I think that's a solid take. I liked the way Warren answered questions, she seemed very definitive and compelling with an exception for the gun question, but, yeah, I wouldn't call it a misstep, just not as good.
Delaney sounded like Charlie Brown with the Republicans being Lucy and the football. His bit about working in a bipartisan manner to deal with healthcare sounded exactly like Obama's approach with the ADA. I don't see how he is going anywhere.
Klobuchar seemed composed, experienced, and uncompelling. It's hard for me to see her breaking out.
I thought Booker did quite well, and totally agree that he raised his profile.
Castro had good moments, but I don't think getting into the weeds is a good idea. As they say, if you're explaining, you're losing. I don't see what he has over higher-profile candidates though.
Gabbard was totally solid and had great posture, but solid, business-like answers and posture aren't going to make someone stand out.
Yeah, I didn't think O'Rourke did very well.
de Blasio and Inslee, were meh. Not that they had a bad performance, but weren't very compelling.
I don't remember anyone named Ryan.
Damn, SCOTUS. why you gotta hate like that? Darkest damn timeline.
SCOTUS: Census case is affirmed in part, reversed in part and sent back to the District Ct.
ETA: They've sent it back to the District Ct so the Agency can explain it's decision.
The court basically said the commerce dept could add a citizenship question if they had a better explanation for it (Ct did not believe voting rights) and has sent it back to give them a chance to come up with that better explanation.
I am currently not murdering any colleagues at work. It's been a day, y'all.
The court basically said the commerce dept could add a citizenship question if they had a better explanation for it (Ct did not believe voting rights) and has sent it back to give them a chance to come up with that better explanation.
So basically "it's fine if you want to be racist but you need to come up with a better cover story."
I skipped the debate in favor of Jane the Virgin. I'll re-engage when there are fewer than 10 candidates.
Yeah, NY's primary is late enough that there will only be a couple of candidates left then.
I'm kind of excited that California's primary will be earlier than it has been, but I'm still not going to pay attention until next year some time. The sheer length of time of campaigns is ridiculous.
