On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry, Atropa. I hope the wait isn't long.

Job for #1 was a bust. Not remotely like discussed and 100% commission so I went and fetched the boy. Try, try again.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no! Bad job news x2. Here's hoping for better news soon.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Aw, man. Sympathies, Atropa and Laura, it's never fun to have the rug pulled out from under you.

I just realized I never let you guys know about how the apartment fire issues were resolved: The moving and cleaning guys never got a specific coverage amount before starting work, (the insurance company just said "plenty") so they never warned me about nearing the limit. The movers wound up agreeing to accept just the coverage amount, which I suspect should be filed under, "White guys play life on easy mode."

So that's taken care of, but my contract that kept the rent the same as at the old place runs out in August, so who knows where the rent is going to wind up. I may start looking into local townhouses.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am trying desperately not to nap after the Indian food we had for lunch. For values of "trying" that don't include actually getting up.

Why resist, Dana?

I can't believe it, but it was actually worth it to stay in the office this afternoon! I actually heard back from people I've been waiting on after 4pm on a Friday in the summer! Magical.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My sleep schedule hasn't been great since getting back, though last night was the worst, when I couldn't get to bed until around 3.

Did not stop me from napping, though.

One of these years I will take you up on this, much to Pete's horror.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry, Atropa.

Mr. S is "helping" pack his suitcase for his and Gary's trip to Florida tomorrow to see Saba and Savta(Gary's dad and stepmom).Which means I have a few days to myself.

I just want to see you with a screw gun and steel toed boots wearing one of my company t-shirts.
