ION, I thought I had broken my streak of their being a random coworker at every event my band plays, but no! A higher-up just told me he saw us on Saturday.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
And yes, the end is horrifying.
I remember Mad Magazine's take on the end. In the first panel, Ponytail!Sandy says, "I guess the only way to get the boy I love --" (to second panel, showing MadeOver!Sandy) "is to become a slut! How's that for a message for the kids of America?"
With even more hindsight, I would suggest that tight pants and big hair don't make you a slut, but STILL.
I've never seen Grease. Y'all are not making me regret this.
Power still out at home. Went to a motel at 11pm last night. Might get it back today, might not.
I don't think a person could see it for the first time as an adult and enjoy it, but man, I still love it! 40-year-old Stockard Channing as high school bad girl Rizzo? Perfection.
I actually think there is a little bit of a theme that everyone changes, and Sandy is a rigidly defined by her goodness as Rizzo is by her badness. But I kind of had to think that in order to direct it!
I think maybe "braggin' wagon"? could work.
I'm joining Laura on the Un-Greasy wagon. This despite being a huge fan of doo-wop and 50s Oldies, but then again rarely have I heard musical recreations that have the true musicality of the real stuff.
Home! On couch! A/C is running! Fan is running! Not looking at the fridge yet!
Joining Jesse with the Stockard Channing love. Even if the idea of Grease makes you physically ill, check out (at least in audio) "There Are Worse Things I Could Do." Where the good-bad-but-not-evil girl shows that she has feelings, too.
