I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

Coding and Sleeping

I saw a new variation of a 'coexist' bumper sticker. All the letters are normal except for the 'x' which is a confederate battle flag.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh, I don't think I like that at all. I just don't get co-existing peaceful notions when I see that flag.

I hope rest happens soon, sj. Sorry about the anxiety.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Dare I ask what a powercon whip is?

It's just a power cord with a powercon connector on one end. Somewhere along the line our industry started refering to the cords coming out of moving lights as whips.

I'm just going to let the info desk folks wonder. They should be used to odd deliveries. I helped them figure out who a package from a taxidermy shop was for not too long ago (costumes).

Pretty bold to take delivery of the whips at work I say.

36 of them.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

All the letters are normal except for the 'x' which is a confederate battle flag.

Ew, no.

Because books.

Way to entirely miss the point, dude.

That is a terrible sticker!

I got very lucky earlier and even though I showed up at my hotel at 10am they gave me a room right away! So I got to nap and shower and then go out and about. Mind you, after some perfectly fine orienteering when I left the hotel, as soon as I decided to come back, I KEPT getting lost. Like, I'd look at the map, go a block, be in the wrong place, farther from the hotel. Try again, same thing. For a while I thought maybe it was a mirage and google maps was just always going to tell me that the hotel was 1.1km away. When it first said that, I was like "cool, I can walk". Like, 45 minutes later I am regretting that, now with an ice pack on my ankle.

Bad Google! Sorry you were led astray.

My MIL is now on Facebook. Ha! I really should get her a laptop since she is using her phone. This should be interesting. I think she will enjoy seeing all the pictures.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've run into exactly the same problem with Google Maps walking directions in downtown Boston -- and I KNOW the place, too. I think dense city centers must throw the mapping/direction algorithm off by a lot.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Apparently (by which I mean, this just came up when I googled) people are adding the confederate flag to other people's coexist bumper stickers because they are assholes
