Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Meara, yep. Since alternative HS requires fewer credits, he only needed 1 class to complete. He did 2 sections, so a full year, of art 101 in one day on a computer and he was done.

That's incredible.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Cindy - that was when I was buying my house and there was a slight setback (not on my part) and my title search lawyer told me there are two kinds of problems, the one that money will make go away, and the ones that no amount of money will solve, and the second kind are the worst.

Not that lack of money can't be a big pain in and of itself, but there's usually remedies that may take more or less time and effort depending. Health and interpersonal relationships, not nearly so much.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Hugs(as gentle as need be) to all who need/want them.

Punishingly Intricate

Ugh, Sara, I'm sorry you're dealing that.

Recruiters tell me that number of pages isn't really a big deal anymore and generally more is better.

Recruiters might not care but hiring managers might. I know I don't want to see a list of all the tasks you ever did at every job you had for the last 20 years when I'm trying to figure out if you'll be a good fit for my team.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Much sympathies to Buffistas going through rough stuff, health-wise and otherwise.

Speaking of health, Rosemary is still recovering from heart valve replacement, though not as quickly as her doctors liked so they called her back in for more tests... and found that she had, seriously a gallon of fluid around her lungs. Happily, it's actually not a big deal to drain that, which is how they measured it to nearly a gallon!!!

She says that she's surprised to be feeling much better now.

Thrive to spite them

I bet she feels better not having all that fluid in her.

I like my Honda Fit. Well except for the underpowered A/C.

At work we have to put in any time off requests 3 weeks in advance. Which I've done. Except my requests are sitting there not looked at so not approved. I've asked my supervisor and my assistant manager and ninth have assured me they will do it and no one has. It's annoying.

Especially because the bulk of it has to be used by Sept 29. Which seems like a long way away until you have to put in requests 3 weeks in advance and then it isn't.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Ooooh, healthy vibes for everyone.

In the health roll call... I'm two weeks into PT for my ankle and I had a cast taken to get a Richie brace. I'm so ready to be done with the boot, but the turnaround time for the brace is sloooow. PT is helping. Gradually.

One positive side effect is that my migraines have all but stopped (until this week) either due to the anti-inflammatory I'm taking or the fact that alcohol is contra-indicated with the med. I guess I'll have to figure that out eventually. I'm blaming this week on allergies plus yo-yo weather. This migraine started on the left side of my head Tuesday, kept me home from work Wednesday, faded a little Thursday, then shifted to the right side of my head. Limiting screen time and not reading is so very boring.
