Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

And I like general "barn" smell quite a bit. I also like dank dirt/stone cellars. Please save me from Febreze.

Me, too. Barn smell reminds me of the old farm. Febreze smell feels like it's clawing at my sinuses.

A friend of mine who desperately needs a new job has decided not to apply at Amazon because of the horror stories about working on the packing/shipping floor.

What is even happening?

Laura, how did everything go, yesterday?

Laura - May 15, 2019 5:13:29 am PDT #7813 of 30019
Our wings are not tired.

Everything went really well yesterday. Four hours out of my day, but it was a good experience for my son. We went to a bail bondsman with tons of 5 star ratings and he was very nice. Typical Florida dude, shorts and t-shirt. Filled out his forms and followed him to the jail. He told B to take nothing inside except his driver's license. He told me to wait in the car. They went inside and B said everyone there obviously knew him well, smiles and greetings. They processed him and gave him a court date in a month and he was done in about an hour. B was clearly relieved to have that part behind him. Of course, we have told him for years he had to deal with it. I faxed the paperwork to the attorney and she will likely get it dismissed and he may not even have to show up. I just want it gone so he can get a job!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

having the Eurovision right now is a bliss on the one hand

Shir, have you read Catherynne Valente's book Space Opera? It's basically Eurovision in Space! And has gotten great reviews: [link]

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

No, but now I'll add it to my reading list. Thanks!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I *love* Space Opera. Highly recommend the audiobook, the narrator just nails it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I loved it as well ... I don't like audiobooks, but the book itself is FUN.

What is even happening?

That's great, Laura. Moving in the right direction is everything.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I listened to the audiobook on Jess's rec - highly enjoyable

I was thinking about getting cheeseburgers delivered for lunch so I'm browsing Mel's Diner on DoorDash. A milkshake costs $5.69. Remember when the "Five Dollar shake" in Pulp Fiction seemed extravagant?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am up to 4 emails to Coworkers in my office with direct questions in them, some of the questions are yes/no and NO ONE IS RESPONDING!!

None of them are on the company IM system. Our boss refuses to mandate they log on. I REFUSE to call around to track down answers and then have no record of the responses.

My boss is in Europe at the company headquarters but he's about to get a gripe filled email about this. He would LOSE HIS MIND if they didn't respond to simple emails like mine.
