That's awesome, sj! She will love it. The big thing for us when we did karate was finding a place that wasn't a rip-off.
Fun times today is sitting in the parking lot of the jail while the bondsman does his thing with my son. He didn't bother to show for a hearing for a super minor pot possession thing 2 years ago and has had an outstanding warrant all this time. He finally agreed that it might be easier to get a job without that. Our lawyer friend said to have him turn himself in with bondsman then she will take it from there.
Ouch, Gud. Can you run at lunch and get something from a drug store?
Thanks, Laura! This place is right in town and seems pretty awesome. It was $20 for her a uniform and the first 3 lessons.
Oh geez, Laura. At least it's being dealt with now?
Stroke Jeopardy definitely sounds bad. And copyrighted.
Oh, Laura! I'm so sorry. Quick and easy resolution~ma.
It has been on my 'make him do it' list for a while. He didn't want to but is finally understanding. Goal is to get it dismissed with maybe community service and/or drug testing requirements- something like that. Need to clear it so he can work places. He said this morning that he needed to deal with it so I went right over and picked him up.
That sounds like progress.
Condolences, Matt. I'm glad you were able to be with him.
Aww, Tim Conway died. He made me laugh aloud often.
I actually have marijuana on my desk right now! Legally, even!
Which is not to say that I'm not very VERY sympathetic to Son of Laura, it's an annoyingly stupid thing to have hanging around on your record when it's really such a minor thing AND legal in other places. Getting it out of the way (and almost literally paying the Stupidity Tax) is a very good thing to do.
(I'm reminded of a Doonesbury strip from many years ago, wherein Zonker (IIRC) says "Smoking marijuana may or may not be a bad thing, but it's definitely against the law."
