All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Phew.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The Boston Terrier got adopted out, so no foster for me. 3 hours of block-walking and the rain stopped, so that was more pleasant than I thought it was going to be.

Now food and TV.

A friend came over and brought me some food and watched great British bake off with me for a bit, so that was nice.

I have arrived back in San Francisco. I get to be on-call tomorrow with jet lag, so that's going to be entertaining.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I had an unprecedented internet moment. My engaging with this jackhole dude caused him to apologize to me. He commented back to me making fun of me, and I said he proved my point that it is very hard to engage with people who are mean wh n I am being thoughtful. I am under no illusions that I provided a transformation, but baby steps. Also a person on the internet apologized to me!

Thrive to spite them

We got lucky when it came to Michael. Dad's house is ok although he still doesn't have power. My aunt and grandma are home and have power. Dad was able check the beach cottage and no damage.

No word on the relative who was trapped. I'm going to take this as good news though because if it had been bad I would have heard about.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Not helping is my desire to use myself as the person making up the slack in the schedule which is not actually physically possible; stop it, flea.

You are severely understaffed and it's not up to you to fix that. So don't throw yourself on that bomb.

Hmm. I felt like they gave me a ridiculous number of pain pills when I left surgery. But now I'm awake in the middle of the night (yes, only about 48 hours after surgery) having woken in pain and taken more meds, thinking it's really only about 4-5 days worth. I'm supposed to take 1-3 pills every 4 or more hours and got 70 pills. Which is 6-18 pills a day. So that could be as little as 4 days, even though it seemed like a crazy amount of pills when I picked it up! I mean, maybe my pain will be controlled by Tylenol by then? But right now I'm the middle of the night, it doesn't feel that way. And I have nowhere else to whine in the middle of the night, and I feel y'all will understand and be helpful with your own experiences. (I mostly was taking 2, during the day today, and that was ok (not great, but I'm not expecting it to take alllll the pain away?) and 3 at night to help me sleep? But yeah, woke up 3-5 hours after my last dose all "owwww")

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Meara, stay on top of the pain. Set an alarm ever 4 hours if you have to.

Amazing!

We got lucky when it came to Michael.

Glad to hear it!

That sounds right to me.
