I'm actually considering whether to offer my services as an ornamental hermit. Probably need to grow out the beard some more.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Leafs lost but the Sharks won. Life is weird, and hockey is weirder.
True.
That house is a lovely combination of hobbit hole and Graceland.
Bwah! I don't know about lovely, but it certainly is extra.
Sarameg, sorry to hear slump!
I had a dream last night that I quit my job. It felt scary but good. But then waking up I remembered I still have to work, and that even if the scenario in the dream happened, the better plan would be tonfrantically job search, not quit on the spot.
I am on board with the domes, though not with all of the wallpaper choices.
At least that's easier to replace than wavy balconies and stone or glass blocks in the walls. Actually, I think the dome house could be redecorated into a fairly nice resort lodge if there are any tourist attractions nearby.
Apartment buildings would have to be much more sound dampening than any I have previously lived in.
The trick is to get old timey construction like the previous apartment I lived in. 14" oak beams under the floors and two brick walls between apartments on the same floor do a lot of sound dampening. Alas, single pane windows separating you from the nearby expressway, not so much.
Yeah, the pre-war places I lived were great for not hearing your neighbors!
It will be interesting to see how I do living back in the world of shared walls and city noises after 9+ years in the burbs. I suspect I will re-adapt fairly quickly. I am not opposed to putting sound proofing on all walls as needed though.
How about the location for Lord of the Rings' Hobbitown in New Zealand? individual residences, lovely location, space for communal gatherings ....
I just got the ART's lineup for next season, and they usually have something they are trying to send to Broadway (recently: Finding Neverland, Waitress, Jagged Little Pill). I can't decide if they are going for Moby Dick (a world premiere, but Moby Dick: The Musical!!) or a revival of 1776 (directed by their fancy Artistic Director Diane Paulus).
hums "You're a Mean One, Mr. Dick" under her breath.
