So do you usually get Good Friday and also the first day of Passover?
No, we only get Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur as full days off guaranteed. Good Friday just overlaps with the first full day this year.
Got it.
Rather than getting Good Friday off as a holiday, we get a floating holiday that we can use at any point throughout the year, traditionally employed on one's birthday if workflows cooperate.
some years we get two floating holidays, but I don't think this is one of them.
I was thinking of extending my leave 2-4 weeks, and now I'm feeling guilty about not being at work or not going back "on time". I chatted with the department gossip-monger and she hinted that I might not get my same journals back, and now I'm freaking out a little that I'm messing myself up work-wise. Rationally, probably not, but who's rational? If I were entirely rational, I wouldn't be taking leave.
Timelies all!
Back from my MIL's house, where we had the first seder. Second one's there as well.
No guilt, Zen! You do what you need to do.
Second one's there as well.
Someone should have taken a picture of my face this week when I learned that overseas there is more than one Seder.
I saw a license plate that read UROUT, and I hope that the guy driving it is an umpire.
