There's something about a food that moves all by itself that gives me the heebie-jeebies.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Alas, Beresheet crashed about 150 km from the Moon's surface. Nevertheless, it's an amazing achievement.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Successfully orbiting the moon is pretty good! And, I would say, it probably did land on the moon just not still working and in one piece.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Yeah, that's the word.

Edited: hold on. My earlier post about 150 km? I got it from the last telemetry data, so it was wrong. 5 kilometers. We got 5 kilometers from the moon before crashing. That's incredible. Last picture here: [link]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We set off early tomorrow for Toronto for FKO. Which means I have to pack for myself and for Mr. S, as Gary gets home late tonight. Which I suppose is better than last year, when he met us there, and I drove the whole way. Still, I'm tired.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It definitely sucks to have lost my job, but I do not envy the people who are left. I wonder how the 7AM meeting went this morning without my manager. I wonder if my former grand-manager, who is now in charge of the team, attended the meeting. I wonder if anyone is going to be working on what they were working before.

Our wings are not tired.

Friday! My first laugh from the morning from one of my newsletters.

Late-night comedy: Seth Meyers had some advice for Michael Avenatti: "When you rip people off you gotta play it cool with the money. You're like the guy who buys a Ferrari and asks for the vanity plate 'BNK RBBR.' "

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I dreamed this morning that husband and I bought the first house we'd lived in, and the previous owner had made all of these changes, so that the layout of the house was totally different, and it wasn't bad, it just seemed like the house was twice as big as it was when we lived in it.

Big changes, brain? You don't say. Subtle as always.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dana, may this layoff result in a better, more satisfying position for you.
