"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett and his friend Kalena will be coming down to have breakfast with us tomorrow.

Then Matilda has a sleepover into a birthday party which will involve Bubble Soccer. (I think that means being inside a giant bubble, bouncing into other en-bubbled people). We had to sign a waiver.

Also I took Matilda to the orthodontist today and she got all the x-rays and photos and molds done so next visit is putting them on. The photos actually turned out to be the hardest part because they had to stretch her lips back to shoot her teeth, and the tech was really scraping her gums until her eyes watered.

I don't know if you remember the school nurse on The Oblongs but she was like that.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

What's on tap for the weekend?

Filming more test videos, writing the next GCS post, and playing in the Vampire game.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

What's on tap for the weekend?

Figuring out how to manage laundry and stairs with this boot. Shooting annoyed looks at the closet bulb that blew and the ladder I can't climb right now. I should probably do taxes, too. And I finally started watching American Gods, so I'll keep going on that.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Boot sister solidarity, aurelia.

Yay for good news about Rosemary! and for mac proving he can do it, he just doesn't wanna.

As for me, I'm still here. Waiting for the new meds to kick in.

Here's hoping the meds do their thing, Zen.

I'm mostly doing fine with the boot. I'm just cranky because my toes are really freaking cold and the bus that stops within a block of both home and work takes an hour and twenty minutes to travel 9 miles.

I do retain water.

Heh!

In the last couple weeks i've taken Matilda to a doctor appointment and an orthodontic appointment and they both turned out to be way stressier than expected (because (a) shots, and (b) deposits on braces). We applied pastries to the first stressor, and tacos to the second.

I'm now in to the alcohol portion of the recovery. To, as Frank Bruni put it, "dull the day and burnish the night."

Thrive to spite them

E is coming to visit for his spring break. Well he is going to mom's but I get to see him. I have 2 days off and I'm going to see if I can switch a shift one day to get some extra time with him.

I have been a bad aunt about staying in touch but he doesn't have an email that I know of and I've missed him the times I've tried to call him or I'm at work when he is free.

I was going to do the penpal thing but I haven't done that yet I should still try that
