"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

~ma for all the stress, msbelle.

But the problem is that in my long-past experience, hash brownies made me high for a solid day, which is not in accordance with my hard-driving lifestyle.

Edibles from dispensaries come with dosing information, which I imagine you did not have with homemade hash brownies. (Obviously you shouldn't try them out when you have to drive, but still.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

msbelle, we'd worry more if you stopped talking about it. Just to be clear. You're in a tough spot and I wish there was something I could do to make it easier.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I'm laughing at myself, because my coordinator sent me the following email:

"Could you please provide [Manager] with your tracking system (and CC me). In other words, how do you keep track of your work at different stages?

"[Manager] would like to provide the new freelancer editors with best practices, and you really seem to be well organized and almost always (99.9% of the time) get your work to me on time."

The reason I'm laughing is because my answer is: "Uh, I have a LOT of anxiety and want to continue to get paid." That's honestly it. (Although I was able to give them screenshots of the way I track stuff on my calendar, my obsessively detailed lists, and my color-coded folders on my computer. I did NOT also include a photo of my bullet journal. [Seriously. My system has a lot of redundancies deliberately built in, because I edit an absolute shit ton for them, and losing track of an article would be bad news. So I track stuff several different ways. Because I am, in fact, powered by anxiety and caffeine.])

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

msbelle, please don't stop talking about what's going on with you. We love you, and we are your support network.

However, that dosage information is still a YMMV thing. One square of 420 Chocolate (the recommended serving!) was not fun or sleep-inducing for me.

You may want to look at tinctures. They were the most effective and consistent thing for me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The reason I'm laughing is because my answer is: "Uh, I have a LOT of anxiety and want to continue to get paid." That's honestly it.

Yeah, but isn't that basically at the root of most people's work processes? At least the part about getting paid. I hear you about the anxiety, but I think that's a really nice compliment from your manager and coordinator, and you should spend some time being smug about it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I will continue to post. Today Mac skipped two classes and I am currently parked outside school waiting to pick him up since he cannot be trusted. The plan for the short term I guess will be to take him to school and pick him up everyday. I'll work from home after picking him up since he cannot be trusted.

I found part of a vape pen in his room when I half ass tossed it this afternoon after getting the call from school.

Oh, I am definitely flattered, and I feel like it should earn me one free late article.

Yeah, but isn't that basically at the root of most people's work processes? At least the part about getting paid.

This is true, but it still made me laugh. Because I didn't think of it as a process as much as distilled anxiety.

What is even happening?

I'm sorry you're going through this, msbelle. I am glad you're posting.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"Uh, I have a LOT of anxiety and want to continue to get paid."

My anxiety usually results in LESS timeliness and Getting Things Done, so....

Ugggghhhhhh.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Has it gotten through to mac just how close you are to breaking? Not in a yelly way, but telling him that you're really at the point of checking out and looking into getting hospitalized? Sometimes it's when the "intervention" gets through to how much ones behavior is affecting the health and welfare of others that it starts working.
