Ha! I forgot that Brooklyn 99 was on tonight - something to look forward to tomorrow. And I checked out the What We Do In The Shadows pilot, and it was as fun as I hoped.
Tomorrow, my roommate is once again scheduled for open heart surgery. Fingers crossed! If it all works, she'll probably be in the hospital for a week altogether, and then we'll find out if they need to send her to cardiac rehab or not, depending on how her post-op recovery. It may take up to three months before she really feels better, but she will feel much better than she did pre-surgery when the recovery is over, because her heart is not functioning well now.
I'm pretty nervous about it all, actually.
Yeah, I'm in the middle of some epic business issues and it's a lot of adulting. I'm exhausted, but the only way out is through, so I'm just working as hard as I can to get up each day and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Zen, I'm so glad to hear that you have supportive employers and that you are getting the needed help and support.
Thanks for the ~ma, guys. It's very much appreciated. Mom says he's doing better.
Okay, roommate is off to the hospital for her operation. I will commence with the fingernail-biting.
Best thoughts to you both, Theo!
Slight TMI: I'm going on vacation next week (!!) so this weekend is going to be my first pedicure of the season. So of course today was the day my little toenail decided to start poking out and cut my next toe. Gross. And also I feel a little sketchy about getting a pedicure with a cut on my foot?
Best wishes for your roommate, Theo!
Heart~ma for the roommate. What an ordeal this has been for both of you.
Jesse, the nail salon should take care of the cut, and of course deal with the evil toenail that caused the issue. If you are uncomfortable maybe wait a couple days.
ND, I've been sending good thoughts and ~ma your way. I hope that you'll see light at the end of the tunnel soon.
Good luck to your roommate, Theo.
Continued dad~ma, Deena.
Jesse, I don't know if you should be skeeved out, unless your salon takes liberties with sanitation of tools and pedicure tubs. Let them know there's a small cut, and they'll just put on a pair of gloves (if they don't wear them normally as a matter of course).
They are very clean and do wear gloves! It will be great.
