Ugh, that is a bummer, Laura.
But, I thought about how much a Brookline parking ticket would cost me, and that with the increased traffic in the neighborhood, the meter maids would be out in force, so I said screw it and left even though I was next in line.

I'm finding "I almost bought some pot but I was afraid of getting a parking ticket" a delightful story, Theo! What a time to be alive.
There was a news story a while ago about a state legislator who would be voting on legalizing marijuana in his state (Utah?) and - amazingly - decided he should know what it was about. So he had a friend drive him (no driving under the influence for him!) to a neighboring state where it was legal (Nevada?) and bought a little baggie of gummies. And tried them ... and didn't notice any effect.
