I see people getting very excited about it, but it's not going to resolve anything. It's just going to start a lot of legal wrangling and the White House fighting with Congress about executive privilege and (unfortunately) some of these decisions are going to the far-right leaning Supreme Court where I don't expect anything but toadying Fascism from the recent appointees.
Schiff will probably have to subpeona Mueller to report to Congress directly.

That will happen but not until Trump is out of office. Probably New York state.

I expect toadying Fascism from Kavanaugh, I mean that's exactly why Trump was so desperate to appoint him. Gorsuch actually operates from (very right-wing) legal principles, which include an attachment to checks and balances, so I'm not so sure about him on such issues. (I don't think Roberts is a reliable pro-Trump vote on such matters either.)

We are having elections here in two and a half weeks. From what I'm seeing in social media and news report, it's as bad as you were having in 2016 elections. It's despairing.

Thrive to spite them
I really need some ~ ma for my mom.
Her best friend of almost 40 years was diagnosed with ALS a year or so ago and she has just declined fast. It paralyzed her tongue first so it has been really hard. She has pneumonia now and is in the hospital on morphine. She isn't expected to recover.
Mom's BF is in her 60s. Mom is having a very hard time right now. Her friend lives in Florida and due to weather and other things Mom wasn't able to get down there as much as she wanted. She isn't sure if she is going to go down now, she doesn't want to be a burden on anyway but she also wants to be there.
It's not just this she is struggling with but also my brother and nephew living so far away. Mostly my nephew. She went from seeing him almost everyday to only 2 times in the past 6 months. My brother is terrible about communicating and mom has been trying to plan another visit and he just won't respond. They don't have the best relationship.
I've been encouraging mom to find a therapist to help her deal with all this grief and upheaval but so far she hasn't.
She just feels so lonely and isolated and kind of abandoned right now .
And she needs someone to talk to but I can't be that person because it gets to be too hard for me.
