I gave her everything... jewels, beautiful dresses -- with beautiful girls in them.

brillig

I'm not sure if that's better or worse than Squat & Gobble, a decent burger spot from several years ago.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

TCG has had a ton of meetings to attend lately. So, I've been catching up on my DVR backlog of shows he doesn't watch with me. Tonight is Black Lightning, right in time for the finale.

What is even happening?

I'm not on Facebook. Has Laura posted a Zoe update there? I haven't seen anything here from here since yesterday.

The status is NOT quo.

Laura's DH posted that Zoe has passed. So sorry for your loss.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So sad.

In other news, I just realized that my parents knew one of the candidates for mayor of Chicago, because her ex-husband has one of the best names I've ever heard. (Zeus Preckwinkle.) And then my mother just confirmed that she is the source of one of my favorite stories: my mother was eating a dip she had out and was raving about how good and light it was, and finally she said, "It's just plain sour cream."

Our wings are not tired.

Thank you all. It's been a very long few days, but Zoe did pass early this morning. It was peaceful. I'd slept in the living room the past couple nights because I didn't want to move her back to the bedroom. At 6 this morning DH sent me to bed to take over Zoe watch. About 10 minutes later she let out a couple quiet gasps and was gone. He came and told me that she apparently waited for me to leave, and he probably was right. They, just like people, will hang on for you. After it stops deluging outside we'll take her to be cremated.

It was hard keeping her here so clearly fading, but the kids got to come say their goodbyes and she was never in distress so I think it was the right call. In some ways easier than taking her to the vet. I think it was easier for her.

I really appreciate the comforting thoughts the last few days.
