Gotta go do oil changes before the weather hits. Something seems wrong that my kid's car is five years newer and has just a tad over one third the miles my car has.

I got the job! The head of the department called to tell me I had it and that HR would be contacting me next week but she wanted to let me know right away so they didn't lose me. I'm not allowed to tell anyone until they do, but I figure the news is safe with my Buffistas. I will be a full time paraprofessional in a middle school autism center. There are nine students, who are not able to be part of gen ed. I will be working one on-one with a kiddo I already met. He's a good reader, but not very verbal and has some oppositional problems, like sitting down in the middle of the hall and refusing to move. This center is known for having a really tight team and being a great place to work-I subbed there as a part of the interview process last week and really liked the staff, who were all ages and races, but all seemed to be people I'd want to know better. I'm so happy!
Congrats, Scrappy! I'm so happy for you!
Timelies all!
Congrats, Scrappy!
Congratulations, Scrappy! To you and the kiddos!
Conga-rats!
Scrappy that is awesome!
Yay Scrappy! They are lucky to get you!
Thanks! After way too many years in HR, which I never really felt was me, this is a job which allows me to use my strengths--patience, firmness, interpersonal savvy, flexibility, humor--in order to do some good in the world.I could not be happier.
Congrats, Scrappy!
And WindSparrow, I'm so sorry.
