Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Me too, for both Federal and State.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I saved my W-2 form from the fire! The fire that never actually reached my apartment, but still.

As of today, I am officially be-apartmented again! They're going to turn on the gas Monday and I've got AT&T coming out for phone and Internet on Tuesday. The cleaning guys say my stuff should be ready to move in Sunday. I am therefore going to spend as much of tomorrow relaxing as I can, because this entire thing has moved TOO GODDAMN FAST.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Wow, chris! This has to have been a real stressor, even if you're not in the sad position of having lost things.

Which reminds me, I went to a job-search workshop today, and one of the participants was a nice polite young-ish man who was starting a job search -- after having gotten out of prison less than three weeks ago, after 8 years locked up. My situation isn't nearly as difficult...

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We've been filing our taxes separately since I started freelancing, but we have to file jointly this year because we had health insurance through the ACA (thanks, Obama) (no, seriously) for 1 month in 2018, and they require that married couples file jointly if they have ACA insurance. I'm curious to see how that will shake out for us.

I always do my Dad's taxes, and it looks like he owes the feds this year for the first time in a long time. Wonder if he'll still be such a Trump fan after he finds that out.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I chipped a front tooth that already was chipped, so I am feeling grumpy and snaggletoothed today.

I'm going to presume this happened at karaoke night when you were rocking out and head banging too close to the mic.

Today was a complete shitshow & at the end of the night (8 pm) it appears it was self inflicted, thanks to coworkers not doing their job. I'm kinda pissed.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

So, this new birthday celebration system where the department has a cake for everyone who had a birthday in that month so no one is left out apparently means that since I am the only one with a February birthday in the department I get no cake until March. The end of March. I do not find this satisfactory.

This is like the person with the leap day birthday! You should bring in your own cake and refuse to share it with anyone.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is fast, Chris! Which seems better than dragging on slowly, but stressful, sure.

You know, I did bring in a cake and shared it. Not for my birthday as such, more as an excuse to buy cake.

I hope the chipped tooth doesn't hurt too much, shrift!

I decided the zeppole were too far away, but am happy to confirm that the rum is as tasty as it was at the distillery. Yum.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It just started snowing here at like 7:30, which seems like a weird time for a storm to start? Not sure why I think that.

I should do my taxes this weekend. They should take approximately 15 minutes, as all I have is one paycheck, but it still seems like a Project.

Glad everyone has sprung into action, chris! But I hear you about things moving too fast.

Various ughs to shrift, Dana, and sarameg.

Theo, I hope you did go out driving, because the snow emergency is already lifted!
