I have some friends in Tucson, and have visited before, so I know a little about the place, and just generally love the scenery and dry dry climate. It's way more liberal than most of AZ, which is also attractive. And has universities and so on, plus neighborhoods where you can walk to the grocery store et al.
Interesting coincidence, bt. The forecast high in Washington, DC today is just one degree off from that. Of course, 37F is a lot colder than 38C.
I just got the best humble brag ever in an email -- the faculty member apologized if she doesn't get back to us today because she's on her way to Birmingham, AL, to give a keynote with John Lewis!

After a week in which TCG had 3 after work meetings, I'm catching up on TV and magazines while TCG ferries ltc to and from school. Then picking up Thessaly for errands this afternoon.

Jessica I always find shoes the one place I have trouble with minimalist packing. I always want more pairs than I should. And often bring more pairs than I should. But women's shoes are hard!
Packing shoes is hard! Even if you can minimize how many you need, they take up so much space. Which is why I end up wearing my bulkiest shoes on the plane - not great for getting through security, but otherwise not too bad.
