Weekend Tally
(check) Shovel Driveway - sounds like a quick task but our driveway is double width and about four car lengths long so it actually takes awhile. It's done though.
(check) Print severance document, sign it, and FedEx it.
(check) Arrange health insurance for the small gap before the new job's insurance kicks in.
(Can't do it yet) Arrange benefits for the new job.
(Ran out of time) Show daughter how to do her taxes.
(Ran out of time) Show son how to do his taxes.
(Federal, KS, and MO taxes done and filed) Start work on our taxes now that I have my wife's business tax info (thankfully that's done by her father).
(Check) Pay bills.
(Check) Go to the grocery store.
(Check) Cook dinner both evenings (one will involve homemade french fries which I just tried recently and turned out pretty well even without a fryer)
(Check) Do some work on my Wife's website (this is never fun as it involves a lot of her watching what I'm doing and yelling at me when I misunderstand exactly she wants)
(Check) Exercise both days (I'm counting shoveling for today's)
(Check) Laundry
(Check) Figure at least two loads of dishes.
(Did some work, kids will have to do their part too) Clean the basement so kids can feel like they can have friends over.
(Ran out of time) I'm hoping to watch The Matrix with my son so he can see the origin of so many memes he knows so well, but he's not super interested so that probably won't happen.
(Ran out of time) I'm also hoping to play some games with the kids, but there may not be time.
(Skipped since the check engine light is no longer on) I also need to run codes on my car because the check engine light came on. I suspect it's low fuel pressure so I might need to clean or replace the fuel injectors soon. I think the clutch is starting to slip a little sometimes, but I can live with a finicky clutch for awhile. I have to drop the transmission to fix the clutch so that's not a job I want to tackle right now. The clutch has at an absolute minimum 156,000 miles on it so it's no surprise it's showing wear. Probably is the original and has 251,000 miles on it.
(Wasn't planning to do it and I accomplished that plan) I also need to change the oil in my car, but I can put that off to next weekend so I probably will. Thank goodness for synthetic oil that lets me stretch out oil changes.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. Oh yeah, I need to make sure I have the stuff I need for paperwork Monday (check).
