It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

Our wings are not tired.

The boys won their regional final last night. Exciting game. They were so teenage boy happy with their trophy. They are so serious so much of the time and it was super sweet.

I really need to do something productive today before date night tonight.

Coding and Sleeping

My weekend agenda.

Shovel Driveway - sounds like a quick task but our driveway is double width and about four car lengths long so it actually takes awhile. It's done though.

Print severance document, sign it, and FedEx it.

Arrange health insurance for the small gap before the new job's insurance kicks in.

Arrange benefits for the new job.

Show daughter how to do her taxes.

Show son how to do his taxes.

Start work on our taxes now that I have my wife's business tax info (thankfully that's done by her father).

Pay bills.

Go to the grocery store.

Cook dinner both evenings (one will involve homemade french fries which I just tried recently and turned out pretty well even without a fryer)

Do some work on my Wife's website (this is never fun as it involves a lot of her watching what I'm doing and yelling at me when I misunderstand exactly she wants)

Exercise both days (I'm counting shoveling for today's)

Laundry

Figure at least two loads of dishes.

Clean the basement so kids can feel like they can have friends over.

I'm hoping to watch The Matrix with my son so he can see the origin of so many memes he knows so well, but he's not super interested so that probably won't happen.

I'm also hoping to play some games with the kids, but there may not be time.

I also need to run codes on my car because the check engine light came on. I suspect it's low fuel pressure so I might need to clean or replace the fuel injectors soon. I think the clutch is starting to slip a little sometimes, but I can live with a finicky clutch for awhile. I have to drop the transmission to fix the clutch so that's not a job I want to tackle right now. The clutch has at an absolute minimum 156,000 miles on it so it's no surprise it's showing wear. Probably is the original and has 251,000 miles on it.

I also need to change the oil in my car, but I can put that off to next weekend so I probably will. Thank goodness for synthetic oil that lets me stretch out oil changes.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. Oh yeah, I need to make sure I have the stuff I need for paperwork Monday.

My daughter cleaned the kitchen yesterday and vacuumed the living room so those items are off the list.

Our wings are not tired.

The kids should clean the basement for their own use. And you know there is zero chance of me working on anything for anyone who yells at me even once.

I hope your son watches The Matrix. It remains such a favorite of mine.

Besides my general list of projects I am doing some research on investment type stuff. I've been dabbling in stock market with my small Roth IRA and doing pretty good with it. So I'll probably put some more in there. Getting old y'all. Need to retire some day.

Herding cats for fun

Dear Gud, if you came over to my house and did half those chores, you would find yourself in the seat of honor, served your favorite dinner and then we would happily watch the Matrix with you. We would sing your praises and fall all over ourselves with gratitude. You do so much. You are a freaking super hero of efficiency and hard work. I wish you could visit your Buffista friends until your home actually appreciates how hard things would be without you.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have gone to the store, made a cake, and done dishes, and I'm feeling like a star.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I killed the can of primer last night, so I need to go to town, which means doing All The Errands. But first, getting French toast at the good breakfast place.

I was painting the bathroom...am painting...the bathroom is the room of painting, so I didn't shower after the first coat (the ventilation leaves something to be desired), so my hands are more than a smidge painty.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Currently in the living room where Mr. S is putting on a "show" which mostly consists of him moving books around.
