In things that have been occupying my headspace, my boss is still mostly out this week.
She & her husband became empty nesters just this fall. And in a day, everything changed & logistics on top of grief. But as she said, they'll figure it out because it isn't the worst of it; that already happened. 2 of the kids are moving in with them. The 3rd, finding them housing solutions so they can finish hs this semester at home school. One of the kids is an adult, but won't be able to live independently for a while.
It's just a lot. And all I can really do is redirect work stuff. I'm not her deputy, but I'm pushier than ours. So I've been telling him & everyone else to delegate or decide, here's my recc, don't bother her with this piddly shit. I'll take ownership & blame.
ETA: this situation also just hits me in some soft spots emotionally.

I'm supposed to go to Vegas mid March. Visiting my friend who moved there. She'll want us to stay with her, and we can, but I kind of want to stay elsewhere at least a night or two. Really need to make some decisions, but haven't made any reservations yet.
