I've made plans to go out grocery shopping at the super-busy-but-cheap store (Market Basket) during the Superb Owl. I live on the edge.

I used to love going to the grocery store during the Super Bowl! It was empty, and as long as you didn't want beer or tortilla chips, you could get everything on your list.
The only reason I don't do that now is that we usually go to my mom's for the Super Bowl. I don't give a damn about the game, but there's always good food, which means I don't have to cook. And since my mom and stepdad are vegetarians, Tim knows he'll get a good meal where he doesn't have to cobble together a sandwich from a hamburger bun and condiments.
I hope everyone is rooting for the Saints.
My parents met in Goose Bay. Mom was an Air Force nurse and dad was a doctor.
I can't believe this has never come up before! I have vivid memories of Goose Bay because it was such a strange environment. The snow drifts alongside the rides were 8-9 feet tall so you were always driving around in white mazes.
I hope everyone is rooting for the Saints.
Absolutely! First of all that non-call was bunk of the first order. Second, fuck the Pats. Tired of their shit. As I noted on FB I hope Brady gets tackled so hard his kneecaps fly off and put out Belichick's cheating, peeping eyes and he staggers out to the 50 yard line with bloody gouged sockets like some testosterone raddled King Lear. And I just found out the Rams owner is a big game hunter who likes to kill Lions. So fuck that guy too.
Basically the NFL is toxic plus at this point. But I'll always root for whatever brings joy to New Orleans.

I just have their stories about it, I've never been there. I believe dad was posted there two different times, but I'm not certain.
Here is an article about my mom from when she was based in Winnipeg. [link]
It mentions that she was a veteran of northern flight missions, that's from her postings in Goose Bay.
I love that article about your mom. So cool.
I found out today that a vegetarian is coming to my Superbowl party tomorrow. As the main course is Cincinnati chili (thanks, Jess), I wanted to try to make something else. So I came up with the idea of doing grilled tofu (I am also making wings and curly fries, so I thought I could use the wing marinade for the tofu).
I got the extra firm tofu, and all of the recipes said to squeeze the water out. So I did, and then when I tried to slice it, it basically fell apart. What did I do wrong? I mean, I threw the marinade in there anyway and will cook it tomorrow and hope for the best.

She had to tend somebody covered in boils! How Medieval!
(lancing boils is pretty gross too!)
But good on her - that's an amazing adventure. Very bold of her.

I only think I know this because it just came up on the Washington Post cooking chat this week, but -- did you get extra firm silken tofu? The silken bit would have been your problem. Edit: there are example pictures in here, if you search for tofu: [link]
I have little success making tofu, but have family members that make it so scrumptious that I have it there or out often enough. My SIL had brunch last weekend and her husband made a curried tofu scramble for me that was absurdly tasty.
My FB feed has been filled with Publix Liquors offering home delivery both yesterday and today.
DH had told me he wasn't going to watch the game today so I didn't make any plans for hosting a watching party, then yesterday he said of course he was watching. So it will just be the two of us. We are doing keto so I have a few tasty treats planned to make it more festive. Totally routing for the Saints. The NFL sucks more and more every year. Oh, tasty treats include spinach artichoke dip with baby peppers as delivery devices and deviled eggs.
