"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's in the comparatively balmy high teens here, but when I came home for dinner the sodas in my refrigerator felt warmer than my hands.

Our wings are not tired.

And... my dad's in the hospital

Parents! Sending healing ~ma in his direction. I'm sorry that this has added to your stress.

THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW!!!!

It's the same, but Canadian! And bowing to Pillsbury's North American copyright of the term Bake-Off.

Coding and Sleeping

Today I get to see the last 4 years of my work burn. Everything I do always fails in the end.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You are not your work, Gud. I know it's frustrating, but it's not a judgment on what you've done or your quality as a person.

Can't say it better than Dana.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Today I get to see the last 4 years of my work burn.

I'm really sorry, Gud. That must be a terrible feeling.

Everything I do always fails in the end.

I know that must be how you're feeling, but that is your brain lying to you. I hope you can get some help to see that more clearly.

And I'm sorry, Gud, I can't remember if you've addressed this before, so if you have, just ignore this.

I wish you would at least look into ADs. If you were in constant pain because your leg was broken, you'd take pain medication (I hope). It doesn't magically knit your bones, but it makes it so you're not constantly miserable and unable to think about anything besides the pain.

You deserve to think about something besides pain.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Today I get to see the last 4 years of my work burn.

I don't know if my perspective helps, but most of what I've worked on in the last 10 years has been deprecated. I spent 5 years on a product that doesn't exist anymore. It sucks, but you develop skills and learn things along the way that you can put into the next project after the previous one burns. Accepting that and rolling with it has been a skill I've had to develop.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That must be hard, Gud. That doesn't mean it wasn't worthwhile, though.
