JZ, I'm so sorry.

Timelies all!
I'm so sorry about your friend, JZ.
Snowing here. Meh.
I keep trying to share things here and finding them too awkward/complicated to post about.
This is me. Plus I feel like I'd just be whining, even tho' I know that 3 weeks of muscle spasm/sinus some form of migraine plus two of the classic light-sensitivity/vertigo/nausea migraines is a thing that justifies whining.
Relatedly, have any of you ever been on Topamax? The neurologist wants me to start on it, but the list of side-effects make me wary, especially since the chances of those side-effects increase because of the other meds I'm on.
Atropa, I'm on Trokendi, which is an extended release form of topirimate, which is supposed to minimize the side effects. I do feel some mental side effects, largely when I grasp for a word and it takes some time to find it, or I can't.
I'm on the absolute lowest dose, which controls the migraines, thank god. The next dosage up had me confusing left and right when trying to give directions.
The word thing is irritating, but it's way better than having migraines, and so far it's preferable to the next suggestion, which is a nerve block.
I'm waiting to see if the university cancels classes tomorrow -- it seems like they usually go with whatever decision the public schools make, but so far, there's no announcement. I really don't want to have to go teach in this weather.
CPS already closed for tomorrow. I can't imagine UC would think it's a good idea to make students (and faculty!) walk to class in tomorrow's weather.

I can't, either, but there's still no announcement.
Have the other universities (XU, NKU, Mt. St. Joe) closed yet? Maybe no one wants to be the one who closes first.
Xavier is closed. Not sure about the rest.

I'll admit, I'm really nervous about the word thing. I already have that to a very mild degree with the gabapentin.
Are the nerve blocks similar to Botox injections? Because I've been getting the injections, but they haven't officially been prescribed by a neurologist. (My awesome dentist helped figure out they might help, and so far they have. Also, I've only been seeing a neurologist for a month.)
Just got the alert -- campus closed tomorrow.
