Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Manchin will vote for Kavanaugh. That utter fucker.

Murkowski is a No, but it doesn't matter.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Has a Supreme Court justice ever been impeached? I've read various people speculating on something like that happening if the Dems take back the House, but I wasn't aware of that having happened for anything but Presidents.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I hope Mitch McConnell lives long enough (in moderately uncomfortable circumstances) to see how history will view him. Like, he loses (or quits) in 2020, immediately trips over a turtle (for the irony), and is confined to his bed, unable to talk on the phone or receive visitors, but forced to hear the opinions of historians and disappointed constituents.

I cannot possibly imagine enough Democrats having the balls to make that happen, even if they get a 2/3 majority.

I kind of want to burn down Yale. Is that wrong?

I mean, I know it would be morally wrong to actually burn down Yale. But is it a mistake to want to?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

One Supreme Court justice in history has been impeached in the 1800s, but he was not convicted.

So it's a legal possibility, but takes representatives actually getting their act together and doing something major. OK.

At least they found that cop in Chicago guilty.

It's like we can have progress for women or minorities, but not both at the same time. And god help people who are both.

Kinda feels more like we can have crumbs but not progress right now. Not that the first conviction of a cop in 50 years in Chicago is nothing but, idk, it's one thing not being completely wrong.

Our wings are not tired.

Well they can, and probably will vote to impeach because that is the House and just a majority. But they (probably) could not get 2/3 of the Senate to convict. But a real trial would be interesting.
