What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

I could see listening to music or podcasts as a mail carrier. But who else has time to talk to you on the phone that much and what do you even have to say??

I think "good morning" is fine—it doesn't demand any response other than possibly a "good morning" in return! It's not even like "how are you?" Where there's supposed to be this polite fiction that everyone always answers "fine" and doesn't care about the response and it gets weird sometimes!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Argh, three different accounts having crises and I haven't had my lunch! ARGH I SAY

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But who else has time to talk to you on the phone that much and what do you even have to say??

Yeah, I feel like some people are always on the phone now, and I don't get it! Or, if not "always," at least "regularly" -- like my friend with a long driving commute spends most of it on the phone?? That's the real extrovert/introvert dividing line!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I sympathize with not wanting to waste time on chit-chat in the mornings, but saying "good morning" as you walk past someone's desk is like, the bare minimum acceptable level of human contact for maintaining office relationships.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I was once on the bus and the person ahead of me spent the entire trip - about 40 minutes - on the phone. They'd call one person, talk (saying, basically, they were on the bus on the way home), end the call, then call someone else and have more or less the same conversation. I don't understand it, but I'm old. And kind of a luddite.

Our wings are not tired.

My kids don't even call me because they know how much I dislike the phone. They text or message me. I get that it is efficient at times, but just not a fan. I'll talk to you F2F for hours, no problem.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a mammogram today. Took the day off in advance, since the appointment was at 10:20 and I didn't know how long it would take. As it turned out, they got me in and out pretty quickly, so I was done early. Went to the mall to buy a bathrobe(my current winter bathrobe has a hole in it, probably from years of a cat kneading it while in my lap.), window shopped and ate lunch.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I don't mind talking on the phone, but it needs to have a purpose. If the bank calls me about my card getting jacked, I will stay on the line with them as long as it takes to get worked out. If my cousin calls about a health issue, or my niece wants to talk about her baby, I'm there for it. But "Hi. Watcha doing? Not much, you?" ad infinitum is a solid no for me.

Coding and Sleeping

Got a phone call coming up with the company I had a third interview with yesterday. Guess I'll find out how it went.
