You guys had a riot? On account of me? A real riot?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

On the lighter side, my office is in an UPROAR because a mouse was running around ... it was first spotted by someone who is terrified of mice.

Gud, best wishes for the best possible resolution to your daughter's car woes ... at least she's all right.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Gud, glad your daughter is okay. And you were unavailable when she called for good reason.

Toddson, we've had mice in the office building from time to time. Mouse traps are still set out. And the office comedians sent out a flyer about supplemental Mice Deterrents, namely 3 cats. One of which looks like my Joey, only not overweight.

I've suggested a cat ... but we have people who are allergic, so nope. The mouse (mice? we've had this a few times) seemed to be drawn to the woman who's afraid of them. Building maintenance guys set out traps and we're fine until the next time.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Gud, you were on the phone. Were you supposed to psychically know you needed to not be on the phone?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

TCG and I have a signal for when I was pregnant that if I hung up on his voicemail and immediately called back it was an actual emergency. Maybe you could start something like that with your kids? Probably not with your wife though as I have a feeling she would abuse the system.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry about your daughter's car, and about the job, Gud.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Gud, I'm glad your daughter is all right!

I was hit by an uninsured driver several years back. She sideswiped me and then immediately offered to walk to an ATM with me and give me $500 in cash for the damage. I declined and insisted we exchange photos of our insurance cards. Turns out her insurance was expired and it was only about $75 worth of damage (replacing the front headlight, I didn't bother with the scratches/dents) so I guess I should have taken the money.

Coding and Sleeping

The other driver is claiming my daughter is at fault. So I guess State Farm will get the police report and try very hard to show that isn't the case. My daughter is an honest person so I believe the police report will favor her version of events and State Farm is pretty good at this stuff.

ION, the dishwasher part arrived and dishes are now washing. Will take the win after the last few days.

That's a smart plan.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My current concern is whether my 7AM meeting will end in time for me to go get stress doughnuts before my 8:30AM meeting.

I asked the Magic 8-ball and it said "Signs point to No."
