Take jobs as they come -- and we'll never be under the heel of nobody ever again. No matter how long the arm of the Alliance might get, we'll just get ourselves a little further.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh I am sorry to hear that, Gud. Transitions suck.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm so sorry, Gud.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, Gud. But I'm glad you hadn't given notice yet.

Yeah, that would have really sucked. Though I did arrange something else that's now a problem. That part I really can't talk about though.

I mean, you'd think you could at least get to your start date before getting laid off.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Also, I am not now, nor have I ever been part of the British government. Certainly not directly.

That's exactly what you'd say.

Sorry about the job situation. When husband finished his MBA, he had a job lined up and was in the middle of all his plans to move, and the company got acquired. He wasn't hearing from them, was chasing people down, and eventually got a hold of someone, who said "Oh, yeah, we got acquired, so there's no job for you." And he, understandably, was like, "WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME?"

Wow, that's a whole other level of suck.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I mean, you'd think you could at least get to your start date before getting laid off.

Yeah, that situation definitely sucks, but it's so much better than getting laid off shortly after your start date!

Very true!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh Gud, I'm sorry.

I'm at home Very Early, thanks to a combination of a storm with a potential of snow and the ridiculous state of infrastructures in this country. Library was closed at 17:00, so I can nurse my cold at home.

Nursing cold at home sounds good!

After finally feeling better from my headache yesterday I sat outside and watched friends play soccer for 90 minutes. And then came home and made hot cocoa because I was frozen.

Now the recurring dilemma: I have no coffee in the house, but getting some would require getting dressed. And getting anywhere is a pain (...literally). But do I go without coffee?!
