Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, on both the poor doggos and the lack of power and abundance of snow.

That one! Yikes.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

msbelle, thank you on behalf of the doggos.

I have a question. Do we know the evil genius who designed training videos to be so soul sucking that documentation now seems to be the fun part of the work day? Asking for a friend.

Our wings are not tired.

I've been particularly annoyed by the robot voice that I hear way too often in videos recently. There are plenty of people with really wonderful voice over talent. At least make the sound pleasant even if the content is crap.

I hate when my bad work is shared with the world. I mean, it wasn't awful, but I threw something together in a half-hour because someone needed it. The person who needed it thought it was fine. The Dean? Not so much. She has feedback! I know it's not my best work! Ugh. (I don't think she knows it was my work specifically, so I don't have to be embarrassed about that. But still.)

Coding and Sleeping

Was informed by my smart home system that the power returned about 15 minutes ago. Will return when the system says the house is reasonably warm again.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good job, smart home system!

I have so much catch up work this morning and people keep scheduling meetings for me! I might need real caffeinated coffee.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Turns out my old boss's firm had most of their projects put on hold by the shutdown, so I probably can't get any part-time work from them.

Off to climb, and then meet an old friend in the city for lunch. The exciting life of a furloughed fed!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

This morning's meeting was 7:30 to 10:45. That is both Too Early and Too Long.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Are any Buffistas in Los Angeles on strike right now? I know there are several teachers, but do they all work for private schools?
