I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

I am making lentils, because black-eyed peas are yuck and I do not have any.

I plan to clean, but so far that has only been putting dishes into the dishwasher and spraying nature's miracle where the foster dog peed.

I need to motivate, but I've only been up a little over an hour.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I will happily make a pile of beans and rice tomorrow, but I don't actually like Black Eyed Peas, so I don't.

Spending NYE at home with pajamas and cats, and if I didn't have to leave the house to run an errand the pajamas would've already started.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I have plans to meet up with friends tonight, but since I have a cold and I got very little sleep last night, I don't know how far I'll make it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm heading to a friend's house later, but am basically hoping to be home by midnight....

I've been invited to two open houses tomorrow, and I guess I'm going to both of them? With my mother.

Oh, but the real reason I came over here was to say I don't know if anyone who isn't in touch with her remembers Theresa W, but one of her kids is needing serious in-patient mental health treatment and they've set up a Go Fund Me, and I'd be happy to share the link with anyone who wants it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Work let us out a few hours early. In a little while we will head to a friend's party. She's calling it ISS NYE, and it runs from 4-10, with New Years at 7, when the ISS observes it. (She retired from NASA Goddard last year.)

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm doing something similar, Sheryl. Except I celebrate with the British. Same time, though.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's very clever.

I like black-eyed peas and have some in my freezer that I will cook tomorrow. My plan for today is to pick up Chinese food, make sure I have enough cat food for a few days, then laze about noshing out of take-out containers and writing out plans in my bullet journal until I feel like going to sleep (probably way before midnight, but who knows?). I may open a bottle of bubbly, I think I have one lying around. My gym is, somewhat surprisingly, open tomorrow, so my ambition is to go to the gym and clean tomorrow - two things I need to make time for in the coming year.

back to back 4 day weekends is RUINING ME for regular work.

OTOH I have gotten quite a lot done, made decisions about getting rid of several things, and have still done a lot of sitting around.

I really need to make sure I do my work from home 1 day/week thing EVERY WEEK. It helps me so much.
