Can this be real?
My team found her quietness and her ability to develop sales presentations and connect with each client was very show-off-like. When she asked for help, we didn't take it seriously because we thought she acted like she knew everything and she was making us look bad by always going above and beyond for no reason.
Sheesh.
So...workermen came and took off the back door to our apartment - which is where my nerdhole is. So I had to leave the house for the day after I cleaned out the back area (long overdue and needed), but it was weird having the place all open and exposed all day.
And it's not quite done because there's rot under the doorframe that needs to be addressed. Plus all the other units are getting new back doors, because...the old doors were crap to start with and are now old and crap?
On the plus side: cleaned out an area that needed cleaning and threw away a lot of stupid shit.
On the negative side: exhausting stressful cleaning before workers arrive PLUS coming down with Matilda's cold at the same time.
I just feel really fried.
Matilda is going off on a weekend trip with her friend Isabella (for her birthday) and Norah. They've known each other since Kindergarten but it's often been a weird triangulation so I'm holding my breath a little. Also, Isabella's mom is driving them to their cabin which is four hours away and in the snow and that is making me anxious. (Isabella's mom has been a bit of a flake historically, though I expect she knows how to drive to her own cabin.)
So again...fried.
I'm on a shuttle and saw something move out of the corner of my eye, and flailed at the spider crawling on my jacket. Then I flailed it off my shirt where it landed, and NOW I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS.
Congratulations on not setting the shuttle on fire.
Ahhhh, I have a stitch in my leg! By which I mean a month ago I had my stitches out, and my PT the other day was like "is that little spot a stitch?" But I still had some scans and I thought nah, it's just a scab. But no, tonight I realized it's a piece of stitch stitckong out of my leg, stuck in me! I'm all weirded out.
Yeah, stitches are super weird that way. That freaked me out with a wrist injury after a motorcycle spill. Creepy to have them some out that way.
NOW I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS
You clearly terrified it and it ran far far away.
Congratulations on not setting the shuttle on fire.
Thank you. It was my greatest accomplishment this week.
My department had our holiday breakfast this morning, so now I'm both too full to do anything and slightly over caffeinated.
We are going out for our department thing in a couple of hours. Breakfast and a movie - I think we are seeing Instant Family which I am not looking forward to but what can you do. I looked at the menu for the restaurant last night and they apparently have Gingerbread Pancakes so I AM looking forward to that.
So now I feel bad about being irritated by my coworker, who was supposed to log back on last night. She sent me a text I didn't see that she had something going on at home that she had to deal with, and she hasn't been online today, and my manager isn't answering my chat asking if she has a second to chat. I hope it's just some kind of non-serious drama.
I think we are seeing Instant Family which I am not looking forward to but what can you do.
My boss, who adopted three kids out of foster care, said it was really realistic, for whatever that's worth.
And just like that, my coworker appears.
