Oh, yeah. It's at least a chapter.

Just set Da Punk on her..."first date"? Maybe? If you don't count walks together six months ago?
Anyway, she is with her boyfriend and his family, all masked and whatnot. And all I could think, as I bumped elbows with the boyfriend's mom and set curfew times and whatnot was:
Fuckin' YA post-apocalypse books never addressed the awkwardness with parents, did they? There wasn't a scene in Hunger Games where Katniss' dad had to put on a shirt rather than a bathrobe to let his daughter have a coupla hours with the boy she likes. There was no:
"Back in my day we'd say 'ya got protection?' har har but today we say 'Seriously, though, you got your mask? Sanitizer? Don't touch anything and I'm not being metaphorical: don't. Touch. Anything!'"
Also: smonster, if you're coordinating something, please message me on FB. I want to help.
Wow, I bad at mearaing, so I would like to offer all the love and ~ma in the world to all Buffistas. Although Matt losing Little Britches stuck with me, because I did not know about Little Britches and that is such a great name.
There are (at least) three sequels to The Cutting Edge.
This actually fills me with joy, but I am afraid to watch. I LOVE The Cutting Edge.
I think we can be fine with Willy-Nilly. Then Amyth can get more greeting. We can also do a big group thing. Sometimes I love being "over 40" and sometimes I feel like it is just one big loss monster.
I say "Amy-thuh" and "Amy-Chuh" And lisaaaaaaah. But S-Monster.
I am back at work because I was really getting close to non functional at home by myself. So I am back three days a week at least. Our building is really safe, it is really just the bus that is somewhat worrisome because it is a long ride. There is sort of a core group of about four of us in the building. I actually had to say that it was not worth escaping getting COVID, only to become suicidally depressed.
This year is just full of shitty choices, Sophia. Ugh.
Willynilly it is and I will just have T let me know if things get lopsided or there are specific needs not being filled.
MM, no spoons to coordinate. I will try and keep things updated here and on fb as I find them out.
Well, Amy, there's you, amyth, amych, amyparker, and Aimee. Are there others I'm forgetting?
No one I can easily recall, Cindy. Roomie, can you think of anyone?
If not, I think you, amych, and amyparker are a quorum (and I think we must call that the Amiable Alliance).
I agree, and imo that name suits us down to the ground. I've just messaged Aimee on FB, to see if she wants/needs to weigh in personally, but I can't think she'd have any objections.
I remember your full handle from LJ. Did you ever use it here, Calli?
No, I don’t believe so.
Thanks for getting the gift card thing going, smonster.
(and I think we must call that the Amiable Alliance)I think that's a perfect name for all of the Amys.
I just remembered that I changed my name here in the wake of the last job going horribly wrong, I needed a place to vent, and I was being hyper-alert. Again, working for my current company is weird with how invested they are in employees being okay. Every manager, exec level on down, has been constantly reminding us that we have an unlimited time off policy, and taking mental health days right now is more important than ever.
I feel like I need to wrap everyone up in bubble wrap right now to keep all of you safe.
You guys, I'm so sorry to hear amyth's news. Fuck cancer.
I hope you're are all doing okay. If you need help on January 20th, remember that Canadians did try to burn down the White House once, and we'd be happy to smoke Trump out for you.
I just had a quick trip to see my dad, because my Sil came to town for work and I took advantage of the free ride. Not driving during the pandemic makes travel hard. There are now no flights out of the dinky little town where I grew up, so it's either a 7 hour bus ride (ugh) or find a ride with someone. I'm already worrying about transport at Xmas.
