Hey darlings - I just posted in Beep Me. I think it would be good to maybe coordinate or centralize our gift card giving for amyth, but I also know that I can not commit to handling that and that I tend towards perfectionism. So: is there someone longing to take on some cat herding for a good cause? Or should we just buy all willynilly?
Also I super need to focus on work today because I haven’t been able to all week, so could someone post a version of this in the fb group?
My eternal thanks.
Thank you smonster! Yes, I have been wondering about how best to gift. Is it better to accumulate? I am good with individual or group.
Someone reassure me that I'm not being stupid. Husband and I are driving to visit my parents for Thanksgiving. We have been consistently careful, only going to the grocery, doctor's visits, pharmacy, and to pick up food. When possible, we've done drive-through or curbside pickup. We always wear masks. And I'm clamping down on that even more for the next week or so before we leave.
We'll get rapid-tested before we go and limit our interaction on the drive to getting gas and maybe getting curbside pickup. This is a reasonable amount of risk, right? i.e. almost none?
That is 100% reasonable, Dana.
Totally reasonable, Dana.
I think willy-nilly giving is fine, myself.
Sorry, Cindy. I should not read and post before I’m fully awake.
Agree with Willy Nilly. Also, Amy has been liking photos in the Buffista Fb group, so it wouldn’t be a surprise anyway. And I don’t think it needs to be a surprise anyway. Interesting note on the cash aspect, thanks for sharing that Smonster (which is absolutely pronounced the way it’s spelled!).
One of my best friends of the last two decades told me last night she has breast cancer. She’s hoping it’s caught early (it was found on her annual mammogram), such a good reminder for all of us to be tested. (I don’t need hugs or hairpats and it’s not 2020’s fault that she has breast cancer. I’m mainly telling y’all here to encourage you to get mammograms!) I did feel rather successful in making her laugh during our three hour call last night. Her husband is one of the worst people, and she’s worried about not being there in the future for their kids because he’s “inept” (her words) and we laughed and laughed and damn the circle of life is really hard.
Cindy, I like the thought I have an "Ellenosity" that puts me above even the blue check mark.
The Cutting Edge is a surprisingly appealing rom-com
There's a Chinese TV series called "Skate Into Love" with a similar premise. I haven't checked it out yet (I watch a lot of C-drama and K-drama), but I heard it's very good.
Yes, please get your mammograms! Also, your colonoscopies!
Would an emailed gift card work? If so, can someone share amyth's email address?
