"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sweet Jesus, Hec. I hope chemo is as effective as possible with minimal side effects.

She's scheduled for a double mastectomy and apparently this cancer is aggressive. Also she's in her late sixties, overweight and smokes so she's not really in a great place to fight this.

My niece is being positive but she hasn't watched anybody die from cancer. Doesn't know how to check off the actuarial table in her head and think, "Yeah, that's not a good combination with good odds."

What is even happening?

Happy Birthday, Jessica!

Happy Anniversary, sj & teacup guy!

Cass, I feel like your life lately has been full of big fights for things that shouldn't give anyone trouble. There was the move, your voting status, and now this AT&T screwery with the phone. Sheesh.

I stand with the cowgirl on this one. Glad to hear from the source that I've at least been mentally pronouncing the last one right all this time!

I assert my right as a Buffista to ignore authorial intent and discuss what comes across on the screen.

Just for clarification, my name is pronounced My-rickle-mang.

Like the above. Clearly.

Tim's Covid test was negative, so that's a relief.

I am so glad. It's ridiculous it takes this long to get results, and I'm sure this contributes to the spread.

Thank you for… everything, java.

I am heartbroken for amyth -- and Calli, and smonster, and KateP and all of you who are so close to amyth, and everyone who loves her, which is a huge group of people to have her kindness, caring, joy, fannishness, and love touch their lives so directly. (I remember a brief fannish squee with amyth over Gram Parsons back in lj days; it was lovely.)

And because we are us… it’s A-myth, A-mitch, and Askie to me.

I hope you have a lovely birthday, Jessica, and I hope you have a lovely anniversary, sj. Ten years? It does not seem like ten years since you shared your getting married pictures.

Cass, you go, woman. That is atrocious of AT&T. And I love the recall to the, “...it was white and looked like a tooth, so I ate it,” story. I love the fact of the b.org communal stories.

Health and recovery ~ma all around to those who have people sick and/or testing or, in smonster’s case, dealing with people who aren’t taking things seriously enough. I’m glad for the negative results reported so far, too. And, Hec, all kinds of good health and recovery vibes for your sister.

What is even happening?

Oh David, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis. I didn't refresh before I posted. I hope Emmett remains Covid negative, too.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Best wishes for your sister, Hec. Do you know which chemo is being used?

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Hell, Hec, that's too much. May the chemo be effective, and may Emmett stay healthy.

smonster, I want to thump your boss with something heavy, say, a cluestick. (In "Couldn't have happened to more worthy people" news, Corey Lewandowski and the owners of Uline have tested positive.)

Steph, that is a relief; good job, Tim's immune system.

A very happy birthday to Jessica, and a happy anniversary to sj!

It wouldn't be Buffistas if we didn't find some way to make this all about pronunciation and/or grammar. I love you all so much.

. . . is pretty much where I'm at today.

Ugh. Called the bank, they again claimed they don't have my fax yet, but it takes two full days to show up in the system, and Wednesday was a holiday, so they won't know until later tonight if they've received it. ...and if they haven't, I'm supposed to send it again and wait two more days? Jesus. They also claim the reason they denied my claim is that there was a "slight delay in fraud reporting". The first charge is dated 10/13, I noticed and reported on 10/29. Therefore they deny it. WTF. THIS lady told me to file a police report (the first people didn't ever mention that) so I've done that but it takes 5 more days to get a case number. This is ridiculous. The bank lady was like "it's not US that's denying your claim, see, it's that we have to ask CashApp for it back and they don't believe us!" BULLSHIT.

Do you know which chemo is being used?

I don't. But it's a long course - 12 weeks.

You guys, I am so sad about amyth that I don't even have any words about it. I'm really glad to read all of your words.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm so sorry to hear about the additional health troubles of those near and dear to us. I found out yesterday my one aunt who still lives in my hometown has come down with Covid-19, but apparently her symptoms aren't too severe and she's feeling somewhat better.

In other 2020-sucks-donkey-balls news, I now have a THIRD sick pet from whatever is causing this gingivostomatitis outbreak, so I live in the Plague Cat-house. At least Molly has recovered enough to turn into a furry buzz saw and escape into hiding when I tried to gather her up for her vet appointment this morning, so I think she'll be out of the woods soon.
