Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Welp. After 2 months of hybrid school with fewer than 5 isolated Covid cases, (participating students have been going in 2 days/week in 2 alternating cohorts), students in our district were dismissed today at 11:30 due to potential Covid exposure at ALL of the schools. I am so relieved my kids are both enrolled in the 100% virtual option.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc's test came back negative yesterday, and she is back at school today.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I am so relieved my kids are both enrolled in the 100% virtual option.

That is a relief.

I don't know if I've mentioned here, but Emmett had COVID too back in March. He didn't get tested but he was sick for two weeks with all the symptoms and quarantined.

So JZ had it with mild symptoms. Emmett had it and was very sick but no lingering issues. FiL died on a ventilator.

I'm glad ltc is negative, sj. Good news.

I'm fiddling around with adding some basic theming.

That will be great. Thanks!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

A technical thingy caved in today and I am without wi-fi for almost five hours now (only hotspot). I had to miss a class because zoom isn't working on hotspot and for some reason, my phone refuses to get the app on it (tried to installed it for over an hour).

Anyhow, apparently I'm very attached to having a wi-fi and dislike having wi-fi being brutally taken away from me.

I'm talking to a guy from Blizzard Entertainment tomorrow about a potential role. I'm not sure exactly why he contacted me, but I'm curious enough to have a quick call. I think this has about a 99.5% chance of going nowhere, especially since I don't hear great things about working for them.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, yeah, game development companies are notorious for overworking people, right?

I’m at the dog park trying to wear my dog out before we road trip and I am cracking up because there’s a three way tug of war going on for a rubber frisbee...between a pit bull, a black lab...and a teenie tiny French bulldog. So outmatched but he’s hanging in there!
