Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I love the phrase "scissors privilege."

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I voted today! Went to a different early voting site than the one I went to Monday. Got there around 8, and there was no line.

Mr. S has, from time to time, taken scissors and cut his hair at home.

Agree that "scissors privilege" is a great phrase. I know I should have mine revoked from time to time. Or just "holding things" privilege, because sometimes I don't manage it very well.

We have BOTH a long length of plastic pipe AND a trebuchet. Actually we have TWO trebuchets - one classic one, tabletop size, and one 4 feet tall that is more of an automated sling shot kinda thing. Maybe Halloween will be saved after all!

ION I am plastering in the sun porch and am making up a very nice romance novel while I work. The heroine is a cake decorator who realizes that she has the exact same skills as a master plasterer and the profit margins are much better!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ooh, that sounds like something I would read.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We have BOTH a long length of plastic pipe AND a trebuchet.

When I was outvoted* on the trebuchet, I suggested buying a long length of plastic pipe, but no, my husband vetoed THAT as well because he wants to — I am not lying — McGuyver together a bunch of (this is so trashy; literally, it's trash) empty 1-liter seltzer bottles to make the treat chute. (He would also like it clarified that he's removing the labels of the bottles and then wrapping lights around them.)

I knew he was like this when I married him.

*(How, in a 2-person quorum, can 1 person be outvoted, you ask, if each person theoretically has an equal vote? I DON'T KNOW, but it happens every time I suggest something dangerous.) (To be fair, it ALSO happens every time HE suggests something dangerous, so.)

But, see, my length of pipe is white and opaque, which is boring, but the trash candy chute will be CLEAR (and apparently also LIT, literally).

But your candypipe is already assembled, whereas I'm estimating it will take Tim 4 hours to assemble the trashpipe.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

What do I want for dinner? Today I have had two egg and cheese quesadillas and some roast chicken.

I am simultaneously bored of the food I have been eating and scared to try anything else and nothing really sounds good, BUT, I am hungry.
