My ballot has been accepted. That really is comforting
Yeah, I love that we can check it online. Ohio sucks because we only have one dropbox location per county, at the BOE, and since early voting is also happening at the BOE, you can imagine the potential clusterfuck just dealing with all the cars. But we dropped our ballots off Sunday, and the BOE had that shit managed like pros. The dropbox was in a different parking lot than the lot for early voting, and cars were herded through a marked lane, and volunteers came to our cars, took our ballots, and put them in a box while we watched. It look like 3 minutes, tops. Plus they gave us stickers!
Nice! I signed up to get email and text msg notifications of my ballots progress - I'm not sure if I get any more or if "accepted and will be counted" is it. It would be nice to know it *has* been counted when it is, when I vote in person I see it go through the machine. Time will tell.
So we did not go vote this morning. I forgot to take my Vyvanse this morning, the alarm went off and I thought "I'm off work.. " and then promptly fell back asleep (I needed the sleep). M's mom went and voted- she said she wanted about 1.5 hours but she also got there at 8 and it opened at 9. It's pouring down rain & will be for the next 2 days but I'm going to get up and try to go in the morning.
Despite it being pouring down rain I'm going to try and go to Costco today. Although maybe I should wait until next week.. I was looking at my bank account and the little cushion I built up has been dwindling but it's been doing that, I think, because I've been making extra payments on credit cards. And also running up against some unexpected expenses.
And I was supposed to have a telehealth appointment wtih my meds manager person but she hasn't' called in and they verified with me yesterday. I missed the last appointment in.. September and I don't want to have to wait another month or so for an appointment. I don't really need anything extra I just hate getting off schedule.
This has blown my mind. In the last week, 45,000 people have joined the voter rolls in Washington. You can register here in-person up to and including Election Day; most of this increase is probably processing of a last-minute rush to register online and by mail, but still!
Wow amy that's is surprising!! I was a little worried when two days after I dropped it off at a box my vote still wasn't showing as received, but then a day or two later it all updated to accepted, so I'm good! I much appreciate Washington's vote by mail, even if it cuts down on dramatic stories of people being in line forever and make close elections take a while to count.
I just got a call that ltc cut her hair at school. My first thought was at least it was HER hair.
That would be my same reaction, sj!
I'm going to vote on actual Election Day because I take great comfort feeding my ballot into the Scantron.

I'm going to guess that she missed having bangs.
That'd be my reaction too, sj. Hair grows back.

I do, too, but I voted early, in case something happened to prevent me from voting on election day (illness, car failure, rain of toads).
No, she loves not having bangs. It was her choice. My guess is she was excited to have scissors capable of cutting hair, which her ones at home will not. Or she was bored and wanted attention.
