Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

This weekend was supposed to be OVFF(Ohio Valley Filk Fest). Instead, we have a virtual con on Zoom, NOVFF. Not sure when the next in-person con will be. sigh...

Our wings are not tired.

DH did training today for tech support election day. He trained on the scanners, printers, and all the voting equipment. As a VST (voting system technician) he keeps stuff running and opens up and shuts down the machines, collects the USB drives and so forth. Pretty cool. His trainer was a young woman named Laura. The training we went to yesterday and his today they stressed that we do not Palm Beach County to make the news this election cycle. He's psyched. I'll be working with voters and him with equipment so maybe we will get it right this time.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Even tho' I have been massively exhausted and in pain lately (chronic health issue flare-up, whee), I am determined to carve jack o' lanterns to put on the back deck. (Where I can enjoy them but not entice trick-or-treaters.) I know I'm not up to gutting the pumpkins, just carving them, so I asked the Madwoman if she'd be willing to help clean them out.

"FUCK YEAH, I LOVE FISTING GOURDS!" was her enthusiastic reply.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"FUCK YEAH, I LOVE FISTING GOURDS!" was her enthusiastic reply.

Love it!!

Also love you guys making it happen, Laura! A friend of mine just got her mother registered today, the last day in MA, so maybe I shouldn't be so smug that everyone I know is all set.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

If the Madwoman is okay with straining the seeds from the pumpkin guts, and if you have a cast iron skillet, heat it up to really really hot, toss the rinsed and drained seeds in with a couple dashes of soy sauce until they start hopping around. Some of them will actually pop and puff up. Sooooo damn tasty. Worth the guts-sifting, I swear.

Fingers crosssed for job-having, Cass. Yay for neice's logjam busting, Zen, and for polls-working with B, Laura. Glad the fever broke, msbelle. Hope you continue to get better. Baked oatmeal sounds awesome (and I do like dairy, in moderation. Cheeeese, for example. But not in oatmeal).

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

"FUCK YEAH, I LOVE FISTING GOURDS!" was her enthusiastic reply.

I love her so much.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The pumpkin guts and seeds separate fairly easily if you soak the whole mess in water.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

As I've said before, having ADHD is like living with a poltergeist. Two people with ADHD in one house is a full-on haunting.

Bwah!

Herding cats for fun

We voted! Filled out the ballots and took them to a local drop box at the community center. May the Cheeto in chief have post presidential legal troubles forevermore.

Then the White House should be thoroughly disinfected, blessed, exorcised and smudged.

Fumigated. And smoke cleansed again.
