I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

Hey celebrate whenever you want, girl.

I dropped puppy off at the groomer and went grocery shopping and basically bought everything bad for me. All I want. Feeling very down today for no particular reason. Just exhausted and achy and sad.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Quick 5-minute rolled oats recipe. While water is on the boil for tea: water in saucepan set to boil. Add dash of salt, broken walnut pieces, dried cranberries, cinnamon, and brown sugar (to taste) stir in oats. Make tea, simmer oats, stirring occasionally, five minutes, or more if you like them softer. Spoon into bowls, add a scrape of actual unsalted butter, top with a splash of almond milk or half & half. Serve.

Caution: it's very lumpy and textured, but we like it that way.

Yay for Tim and Jen's DP! And also Laura's DH getting on the health wagon!

I am an advocate for breakfast pie. Also? fried fruit-filled hand pies, crust sprinkled with whatever spices go with the fruit. Apple=cinnamon, peach=ginger, cherry=a little anise and cardamom, etc.

I dislike cornmeal, in general. But we do the trad buckwheat pancakes and they're quite tasty. Mmm, breakfast.

Good luck with the job app, Consuela.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am currently sitting outside the ER while DP is in getting assessed

Must have been the day for ER visits. I spent the night at the ER. 10:30pm - 8am. GI virus or food poisoning, unclear. running 102 - 102.7 fever. I took 2 bags of saline and got meds that finally stopped the waves of nausea.

They did not do a COVID test, but I had an appt with the city testing at 9:15, so I went from the hospital to that and should have results in 3-5 days.

Fever still not broke. On clear liquids. SO hungry, but everything sounds awful and I know would not cooperate with my innerds at the moment. So water, broth and tea.

Ginger ale helps: sugar for lost energy, soda to settle the stomach. I'm sorry you're still poorly after a night in ER.

Yikes, feel better soon msbelle.

I've finished carving my jack-o'-lantern and am now soaking it in bleach solution overnight to keep it from rotting before Halloween. Tomorrow I'll finish painting the eyeball and teeth and put it out in the hallway to creep out my neighbors.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{msbelle}}} Feel better and stick to the BRATT diet for a couple days when you start to feel well enough to eat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, msbelle! I really hoped you were not sick, and now hope you feel better ASAP.
