Wow, you've really mastered the power of positive giving-up.

Ah, the boob squish. Hope that goes as well as those go. I'm due for one in Jan.

That's a lot, Laura. I hope you can relax a bit today and Bactine up those bug bites so they're not as bothersome.

I've had breakfast and coffee, and now I need to decide which of the multitude of possible projects to work on today. Only outing I need to make is for a blood draw this afternoon, so, theoretically, I should be able to make good progress on something.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

What a PITA, Laura.

Our wings are not tired.

I just don't want to go outside at all. I'm in my jammies here. DH is still sleeping! After 10AM! So I haven't set up my work environment yet. My desk, work computer, and phone are set up in the bedroom. So they are still in my travel case. My work environment is remote anyway so I am logged in on the laptop, but it isn't as comfy.

I'm making my shopping list. Not sure whether to get delivery or send DH, but I'm not interested in going anywhere not required.

I may go to one of my favorite doctor's offices after hours because I brought fall leaves for the office manager. She has had a really tough few months. She has had multiple staff members with covid positive family members necessitating quarantine, and even had one of the doctor's out. She bought what looks like a super soaker to disinfect the office every day, but the stress of trying to stay safe is really taking a toll. I did the wax paper ironing of the leaves before I left NY. I hope they survived. I haven't gotten to that box yet.

I hate Mondays. Though at least my early am meeting got moved to Tuesdays?

Puppy demanded to be let out at 3am. Grrr. I thought we were over this—he made it through the night for at least a week! Plus he's been out three times this morning—I think he just likes it outside and knows I'll let him out if he cries at the door. Hmph.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Not thrilled with today's Mondayness and lack of doughnuts, but at least I have a caftan to wear

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

All of that travel and family stuff sounds brutal, Laura! Glad you made it home, hope everyone is OK.

My brother and brother-in-law and their fancy house got featured in a magazine.

They are so fancy!!

woke up today with sinus drainage and soreish throat. 99.5% sure that is allergy and general FALL tep drop nonsense that I get every year. post nasal drip at night = soreish throat in morning. STILL. everything is tinged with COVID panic.

I have found that I often have a sore throat the day after I do stuff, but I think it's from mouth breathing under a mask for an extended time. It definitely feels different from a sickness sore throat, if that makes sense? Anyway, it's not COVID and I have stopped worrying about it.

I also don't have doughnuts, but I did have chocolate babka for breakfast, so that's something.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I thought we were over this—he made it through the night for at least a week!

Sigh. Yeah. My dog who was sleep peeing is not doing that anymore, but is now needing to go pee late at night or in the night and is not waking me up, but instead peeing in the house.

NOT COOL, MILEY.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oatmeal needs to become a habit. bleargh.

FWIW, JZ and I do a half mug of oat bran every morning. Because oat bran is more efficient at removing cholesterol you don't need a big bowl of it.

It has the added benefit of being very filling because any liquids you drink cause it expand in your gut many times over and make you feel full.

(Our diet went on and on about this effect referring to it as the "bolus" which is how we refer to this portion of our breakfast now.)

It's a recommended part of our diet plan but it has a lot of virtues.

(I tart ours up with a bit of Stevia, Kosher salt, a drop of maple syrup, cinnamon, blueberries and pecans.)

Oh, and I don't cook it on the stove. I just heat up a tea kettle and pour boiling water into the mug. Easy Peasy.
