Angel: Just admit it: you think you're gonna ride in, save the day, and sweep Buffy off her--Spike: Like you're not thinking the same thing. Angel: I'm already seeing somebody. Spike: What, dog girl?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oh dear ... adventures in science ... it's SCIENCE I tell you!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I voted early today. It was the first day of early voting in NC. I usually vote the first day, as I can then forget about it until watching the results on Election Night (which I know may be iffy this year). The line was far, far longer than I've ever seen it, and it took me about six times as long to vote as it ever has before. Which is great—yay high in-person turnout! But people were people, and it was the first time I've spent that long in public since March. So now my unduly pampered introvert wants to call the day done.

Our wings are not tired.

That is plenty for one day, Calli!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I say you are justified, Calli! Well done

Toddson, that is hilarious!

Phone resolution vibes your way, askye. That stuff is such a pain.

I had a Zoom call with my sisters this morning and made scrambled eggs for myself and Matt at the same time, and they turned out really well, and I didn't lose track of the conversation at all, so I feel like I multi-tasked like a champ... and now I should be done for the day. But I'm not.

Ooh I would not count on that askye! Will you have plenty of time on Election Day if needed or will you be trying to squeeze it in before work or something?

Ha. I was composing while you were, Calli - I think you actually earned an "I'm done now," as opposed to my "I made eggs and talked at the same time!" claim.

Our wings are not tired.

Multi-tasking gold star, JenP!

I have packed and loaded into my car 4 bags of kitchen food and/or devices and packed one big bin of clothes. I have decided to leave the instant pot and air fryer and treat myself to new ones in Florida rather than bringing them back and forth. So really just the food stuffs need packing. I can't leave any canned goods because the freezing and thawing turns the contents to mush. We've been eating the freezer/fridge stuff and the remaining stuff will go to family.

On track for morning departure. I pack most stuff in my reusable grocery bags because they are a good size for me to haul stuff and not be too heavy. Timed it well on pet food. My Chewy delivery comes to Florida on Saturday and I have just a few days worth left here.

Go you, Laura. You have it down to a science.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I mailed in my ballot over a week ago, but my county doesn't have an absentee ballot tracking system (the state only tracks absentee ballots from military/overseas) so I have no idea if my vote's been counted or not. NY is solidly blue enough that I'm not really concerned but it would be nice to know.
