I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The rapid covid test I got on Friday was negative. Great. They sent a swab in for the test that takes longer, and this morning the lab said they couldn't get a result from the swab. Urgent care has no idea why.

So...back to get swabbed again.

Our wings are not tired.

Ugh, Dana. The test process isn't pleasant, but the reassurance of the negative result is nice.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Calli, you have U.P. antecedents? My mom was born and raised in Escanaba. That makes us practically related, right?

The Stormy Kromer Sisterhood! My dad was born in Wakefield and grew up in Skandia.

Our wings are not tired.

I need a really good leak from Walter Reed. There is no reliable narrator. I don't know if the scourge of the White House ever had the virus, if he did how sick was he, what treatment he had, if any. His spokespeople and WH medical team can't be believed. No idea what is true, of anything, of the statements from the official sources.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've got to say, the Vector-in-Chief is behaving exactly as I guessed he would -- disregarding the best medical advice from some of the best doctors in the world. May his gut instincts reward him just as they have with all those bankruptcies.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I believe that he actually has it, if only because I can't imagine the medical staff at Walter Reed being in on a huge scam. I think Trump's baseline grasp on reality was poor to begin with, and he has the steroid crazies now,* and he doesn't want to appear weak in the press (or possibly his adult children and other staff/enablers are super concerned about his image with less than a month until the election, and so *they* want him to appear hale and hearty).

*The particular steroid that Trump is on is known for really making people completely out of their minds -- like farmers going out and tilling their fields at 3 a.m., or people removing all the doors in their homes. A friend was on it after (successful) brain surgery, and as soon as she read that Trump was taking dexamethasone, she said "Oh nooooooo, he's gonna lose his entire mind!"

That sounds seriously like he should be relieved of his presidential job for a week or more. But at this point he is only surrounded by enablers.

They are never going to bust out the 25th amendment on him, which is fucking ridiculous.
