Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Actually, I saw something about what he does use - it's a liquid concealer, not a spray-on tan. It's orange because, seemingly, an orange concealer works on dark circles and blemishes on pale skin.

Orange concealer needs to be applied with a light hand, and then layered under a non-orange foundation and translucent powder. And even then it needs a lot of blending.

I really hope the poor makeup person who works for him is deliberately doing this to him. That would make me so happy.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Or, if he's as germophobic as I've heard, he does it himself ... which would explain how badly it's done. I do like the idea of someone deliberately doing it badly, though.

Thank you, Toddson. My mom loved Anna Russell and I haven't heard her Ring Cycle in years. So great to hear it again.

I love her too ... I always think opera plots are like a Christmas tree - if it's thin in one spot, throw a lot of glittery music over there. The Ring Cycle ... when she explains it you see just how weird it is.

I think she had a take on Gilbert and Sullivan as well. I need to find it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Did not watch the debate and am not planning to watch any further debates. I like my blood pressure the way it is.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Jim, Ken and I have been YouTube Party-watching Alton Brown's Quarantine Quitchen; Alton and his wife Elizabeth were going to do a debate watch-and-post, realized on the night they didn't have the stomach for it, and instead had a lively discussion of mayo-based hot dips and how to make a boulevardier. Which was a much better use of my time, because I got a cocktail out of it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

aurelia, I had snapdragons that did pretty well indoors and were cat-safe. Though not cat-proof, mine regarded the plants as toys and proceeded to play kickball with them.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

aurelia - philodendron or spider plant? In my experience they are both quite hardy and low maintenance - I'm not positive about the cat safety without doing some research but I have had them and cats in the same house without anything bad happening, for sure.
