I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, hey didn't see the link - I love a sweatshirt dress!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc is officially at that age when she freaks out whenever TCG and I kiss each other. This is going to be fun. t evil laugh

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

apparently Graham is asking for help and money because of how close the race is in SC. I am trying to be optimistic that he can lose but right now this is more a race Graham is working to win rather than one where the election is more a formality.

I love how he went on the Fox network to beg for campaign money. (The FCC still mandates equal time for non-purchased appearances of political candidates, doesn't it? Jamie Harrison should get right on that.) And whine about voters hating his guts—as if he has any!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Even if some of these big races do not flip Dem, Repups are having to spend $$ in places they never had to spend $$ before.

back to texting.

Hey. New board.

We have to mail out ballots, no other choice. They were dropped off at the embassy in Sao Paulo today, who will ship them back to the US and transfer them to the USPS. Voting in Minnesota which is much purpler than any state I've ever voted in (Mississippi, California, New York, Tennessee were all... Not purple) so I hope everything goes well.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I got my poll worker paycheck, so I'm giving it back out to campaigns, and also enjoying the "tip" to ActBlue, because their office is around the corner from my house, so I'm supporting the local economy, too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Repups are having to spend $$ in places they never had to spend $$ before.

I can't believe how close Texas is. I mean, I don't think we'll flip it this election, but it's within 2%. That state is becoming very purple, and if that goes, the GOP has no electoral path.

Which I know they have figured out hence the gerrymandering, voter suppression and outright power grabs.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Gud - good to see your pixels. Sickness takes time and rest to get past...pushing to return to work too early just ends up leaving you sick for longer. Plus, no one can work efficiently while feverish. And no one wants to be the typhoid mary of the office, right?

Nilly - wonderful as always to read your updates. You are a blessing.

I still have a (mostly) full tank of gas and tons of food laid in from the wildfire reprieve. I unpacked the emergency go totes but can definitely hunker down for weeks (maybe months) if need be. I have 6 weeks worth of cat food...should probably stock up on more, just in case. Also, I now have enough packaged cookies to last me...years. So many cookies, y'all. Like, i was bemoaning my lack of cookies last week, and have more than made up for that absence. It's a little worrisome, actually. Also, oatmeal creme pies. Smonster, i put that entirely on you (AIFG). Some of the air filters that i ordered a fortnight ago showed up so I have fresh clean air in the house again! Bodes well for future days of staying in.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

mearing:

Gud, please take more sick days. It takes time to bounce back from something like this. Please consult a doctor.

I just want to say that Nilly was uber-supportive during my test season. And she had a lot on her plate as is.

Yay shrift's tax person!

Also, people weird and write all kinds of stuff on ballots.

In elections no. 2 in 2019 my committee had one with a lipstick kiss mark on it. Which, according to protocol, is not a legit vote as it can identify the voter.

I'm entering day 4 of "the season's changing, time for a loooong migraine that painkillers just take the edge of!". And I got so much to do, but right now I'm mostly "body, why the assholeness? We've got enough outside misery to deal with as is".

That is amazing! I love it.
