Spike: Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh…I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to-- Wesley: Thank you. I'm…very comforted.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Haven't gotten that one. Mostly I'm hearing the car insurance ones that all mispronounce "warranty" that same way.

Thrive to spite them

I keep getting "someone in your family recently stayed at (some hotel)" and blah blah.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I don't know what spam calls I'm getting, because I have a spam blocker. But I do know the number has gone from 1–2 a week to 6–7 a day. They show up on my phone as "potential spam" and I don't answer. I figure if it's a real person who really wants to talk to me, they can leave a message.

Our wings are not tired.

I don't hear past the first recorded word, but my sister got 3 'your social security number has been cancelled' calls in one day last week.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We have Caller ID, so we don't answer if we don't recognize the number. Sometimes it even says Spam? before the ID.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

In not spam news, thanks to USPS informed delivery, I'm now impatiently waiting for my mail to be delivered so I can find out why the IRS is sending me a letter.

I'm trying not to catastrophize until I read the damn thing, so I've limited myself to a few minutes of freaking out and getting my tax returns handy.

I get the car warranty and the social security ones all the time (at least, if I pick up, which I usually do because I also get work calls)

Thrive to spite them

Dinner is becoming a major ordeal and a big clusterfuck. The airfryer is kind of dead.. it still works but the latch that keeps the basket and the handle together is broken and I didn't realize that until I started cooking so I'm having to very carefully juggle taking it out. And since I picked a recipe for a larger air fryer I'm having to do things in batches.. it's supposed to be boneless country ribs and I bought bone in by mistake so I'm hoping it will cook right.

And then I mentioned making stuffed peppers as a side (vegetarian ones) but decided not to since M wanted to make baked potatoes and corn and I didn't want to try and juggle something else but I ended up makign it anyway. And I was trying to flip between 2 recipes on my phone and mis read the pepper one.

First it was way to damn complicated and required using a saucepan, stock pot, and a skillet and an insert for the skillet to put the peppers on to steam. But I used half the amount of rice by accident so it's very very very cheesy. I have no idea if it will taste good. I decided the peppers were cooked enough, the rice is cooked so I just wiped out the skillet I sauted onions in and then filled the peppers, put a lid on it and let the residual heat do any more cooking.

Its supposed to be 1 cup of uncooked rice and 2 cups of grated cheese. But I accidenntlly did 1/2 cup of uncooked rice.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I have to answer my cell since calls to my work number are forwarded. On my landline (yes, I still have one) I can ignore all but my parents and the building com/buzzer system.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I don't answer the phone unless I recognize the caller, but I've been getting a lot more calls (that I don't answer).
