Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It's Friday. Not that the weekend will be all that relaxing, with Mr.S being a 3 year old....

He's now thinking about taking French until he can retake it.

Is it in French, or do you just get like, bonus points on your application, or is he just going to take French for fun while he waits?

I had my first PT appointment today! Granted, he (and I) can't do much besides ice it and flex a bit, but he did do a little testing of how my foot (as opposed to my ankle) moves, and so on. So that was good. Made a whole bunch of appointments in the coming weeks. I'm sorta feeling like "fuck work! I'll go to PT when I want!"

Tonight my friends are supposed to be playing poker at a private cigar club another friend is a member of. I want to be there, hanging out with my friends, but I also don't want to put real clothes on, call a Lyft, hobble up the stairs, come home smelling like smoke...bleh.

Our wings are not tired.

PT good. Do everything you can to help recovery. Sorry that everything takes so much more effort.

Random amusement: I went and got myself a box of wine and when the clerk asked me for ID I asked her if I was getting a senior discount. She looked so confused.

Random delight: Fixing dinner from what I found around the kitchen resulted in angel hair pasta with broccoli, langostinos, pumpkin seeds, and dried cranberries in a lemon pepper and olive oil sauce.

Random quandary: The jazz station I picked based on my search for Holiday Jazz has had a nice assortment of Christmas jazz and swing vocals prompting me to wonder if they thought I was searching for Billie Holiday type jazz and not just holiday jazz.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I can't keep up with the world. I had a show open Sunday and another one with first preview tonight, so I'm exhausted and trying to catch up on news and I'm just scratching the surface when the next thing happens. Mueller... a friend from grad school died... earthquake... 41 died...

I don't know how to react to anything.

Our wings are not tired.

It is overwhelming, aurelia. That is why I sometimes am forced to take media breaks. Too much.

Is it wrong that my first thought about Bush dying was that we would have to hear from the bogus potus how he was sure Poppy would be proud of how he was making America great? I have no particularly fond thoughts about H.W., but I do feel for the family. Without doubt we will have a eloquent, warm, and dignified response from all the former presidents, and self focused dribble from the current occupant. Unless they force him to stick with one written by someone else.

I'd like to go 5 minutes without hearing or reading the name this morning. Today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Days like this remind me of the time I donated white cells (? something) to a specific patient. The blood center had called me because I was a match for some kid with cancer or other sad story. So one Saturday morning, I go down there and prepare to spend like two hours hooked up to the machines. The good news is that they had TV, with a limited selection of channels. The bad news is Reagan had just died, so that was ALL THAT WAS ON TV. It was the worst. If only podcasts had existed then.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yeah, it's not that the CG never sees action, but a lot of what they do doesn't involve it. They maintain all the buoys and channel markers on all the bays, lakes, and rivers in the US, for instance. Plus of course the search and rescue work. But they do also do drug interdiction and port security, and that's where the weaponry comes in.

anyway, just a thought.

I need to get out and run the dog, but I'm worried it'll start raining on us...

Our wings are not tired.

I have plenty of other things to do today than watch tv, fortunately. Sad that every single horrible president of the past looks good in comparison to the current horror show.

If only podcasts had existed then.

Seriously, we live in a magical world.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

41 dying is kinda of - just a big nothing to me this morning. I am not watching news though. My first thought after reading the news and the wowness of it, was that I hope every world leader at the summit now takes their time to praise 41 (he does not deserve praise) and it drives 45 batty.

I am working a table today for the Boston Rescue group. This is the first time I will meet anyone other than the woman who interviewed me. I am excited, but it also means I am going to be away from home for 3 hours and I trust mac approx 0%. The thing about not trusting someone is you don't trust them. His tracker app says he was at work until 3:15, but he was not home until 4. He says he came straight home. Guess what? I DO NOT BELIEVE HIM.
