I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I also want a nap.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I also want a burrito.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Guess you showed them! Or me! Or someone. Someone has been shown.

My instant latte is actually kind of lumpy, which should not be a surprise but I kind of forgot that instant latte would mean instant milk which in my experience is kind of gross by nature. Oh well. The rest of my breakfast was luna bars which are certainly reliable if not very exciting. I am planning on running to the office to turn my phone to "vacation" mode (it is currently forwarding to my cell phone and I don't get a lot of calls but I'd rather not get any while I'm not working...) and I think I may pick up a slice or two on my way home.

Shir, I hope you and roommate remain well and you can figure out what kind of precautions you need to take without making yourself more unhappy than you need to be.

Strangely, y'all have not convinced me to trade in my pizza craving for burrito. I'm usually so susceptible to suggestion!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, Shir, I hope you and roommate are OK!

I guess I've always thought of quinoa as a starchy side like couscous rather than a salad ingredient, but it makes sense.

I think of couscous as a salad ingredient, too! Especially in the summer.

I'm about to make a salad approximating my old favorite Sweetgreen salad, which includes wild rice. [link]

Hey. New board.

Right now I'm wishing I had pursued a programming career instead of a teaching one. Dealing with the types of problems work-from-home-teaching causes beings me so little joy.

I know this is probably a grass-is-greener thing, but it would be nice to have a checklist of bugs to work through quietly and alone right now.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

msbelle - I sent you a reply.

I haven't had breakfast, so I am not interested in a burrito presently.

But I do want a shower.

Mmmm, beets.

That's understandable, Gris. This is presumably temporary, though, right? Right? Trying to remind myself, also.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I went through a brief quinoa phase but it turned out I prefer brown rice in every quinoa recipe out there, and it's about a gazillion times cheaper.

I really wish I had a burrito now. I had enchiladas a couple of days ago, but then my lousy family went and ate them all just because they were "leftovers" and "in the fridge" and "delicious."

I woke up at stupid-o'clock in the morning and then couldn't get back to sleep after an anxiety dream about...eating dinner in a restaurant with my sister. Not a nightmare-scary restaurant where anything bad happened, just a normal pre-2020 dining experience that completely ruined my ability to relax and get back to sleep for the next 4 hours.
