Our wings are not tired.

And for some reason I have received 3 robocalls this morning on my business line saying I was prequalified for ... don't know what because I hang up. I hat to not answer unknown numbers on my business line, but I might.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

This year ... the Cuyahoga is on fire (last time was 1969).

Dang, that just got the R.E.M. song stuck in my head. #deepcut

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And now, the lawn guys are outside doing something for the complex, the result of which has been AN HOUR of weed whacker tree trimmer whatever outside.

I have this every two weeks. All summer! I live in the city! I can't figure out what the eff they are leaf blowing all that time! Actually, some of it is my sidewalk, which I'm sure they think they are doing me a favor, but I haaaate it.

I also realize it's better than the absentee landlord next door NOT hiring landscapers....

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I am taking two classes on edx, and in everything I read I see HoYay. I'm taking notes and marking things as I read, and I keep wanting to underline all the HoYay. I just wanted you to know that I blame all of you.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dang, that just got the R.E.M. song stuck in my head.

It always gets the Randy Newman song stuck in mine.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

sj - it's one of the dangers of hanging around with Buffistas (I knew I belonged here when I was walking by a couple of co-workers who were discussing the Hershey spa and, after one mentioned the chocolate mud bath, the other asked why someone would want to do that and I automatically responded they could have someone lick it off)

Herding cats for fun

Saw an article at the Mercury News about a terrible fire at an unoccupied home in the Oakland hills. I think I've seen pictures of JZ's dad's house. It seems even sadder to know this is newsworthy.

Days of bad air at my house. My lungs feel like they are lined with cement. Carrying groceries into the house yesterday got me so winded I scared DH with my gasping for breath.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My mom saw that story, too, although she didn't realize whose house it was until I mentioned it (she'd found a print copy of the obituary, so she did know something of JZ's travails this year)

The air actually seems better today here, although that is a relative thing.

I feel like HoYay is a valid litcrit thing - although not the preferred term, probably

sigh ... I heard something on the news about a woman whose house had burned down while she was evacuated; the first she heard of it was when a reporter contacted her to ask how she felt about it.

Oh, that's awful.

We just got informed that we *are* having the outlet sale this year. I am shocked. They aren't requiring everybody to work 2 shifts, at least, and they outlined extensive safety measures but it still seems like a bad idea to me.
